Tait takes break?

Just heard on radio that Shaun Tait is taking a break from cricket.

I know i have had some fun at his expense lately but i genuinely hope all is ok and he comes back soon.

Sounds like another casualty of the daily grind of cricket and the constant pressure and sniping in the game. Doubts over his ability, his bowling action etc. etc. all take their toll.

A couple of articles confirming his decision:

I'm sure he'll be back at domestic level, but surely the Australians would be loathe to select someone seen as mentally or physically fragile.

Sad. I was hoping he'd be the new Waqar Younis.

Maybe this in part explaisn his lacklustre performance at Perth. It's a shame as seeing Tait and Lee in action at opposite ends is an impressive sight, not to mention a frightening prospect for the batsman.

I hope he starts running and puts in a full physical conditioning preparation, including adhering to a strict diet.

Tait let himself down this time around by being half assed in his physical preparation prior to the commencement of the season.

This guy needs to come back with a great VO2 test and a fantastic skin-fold result, and then we might be talking ashes tour.

If not join the scrapheap of tubby unfit bowlers nursing various excuses of why they failed to make it in the big time.

Damien Martyn, Justin Langer and Brett Lee would be a good guy's to talk about physical fitness and mental preparation with.

'Exhausted' Tait takes long break

So he is taking an extended break from all grades of cricket, I wonder how much he was influenced with people on his back all the time????.

I don't see Tait coming back at all and if he did he might find a settled bowling attack in place like the one that went on for ages McGrath, Lee and Gillespie.

Tait will always be a one day bowler, im still not sure about test cricket. Taking a break sounds like the best thing for him he keeps on getting injured, I think he will spend the time working on his bowling and his shoulders. He will come back a better bowler.
