| Time for Bashar to go? I think it probably is time that he retired. His form's gone from bad to worse, and he clearly isn't the batsman he was a few years ago. Saying that, I think that he's been Bangladesh's best Test batsman by a wide margin. His average peaked at 36-37, hugely impressive considering his compatriots' performances, he's the first Bangla player to 50 Tests, and he's scored considerably more combined centuries and half-centuries than anyone else in Bangladesh's short Test history. However, if he continues his current poor form, his average will fall below the 30 mark for the first time, and his reputation will be in tatters. So I think now is the time for him to go. |

| If I had to pick the Bangladesh team right now, then I'd pick: 1. Tamim Iqbal 2. Shariar Nafees 3. Rajin Saleh 4. Mohammed Ashraful 5. Shakib al Hasan 6. Farhed Reza 7. Dhiman Ghosh 8. Mashrafe Mortaza 9. Abdur Razzak 10. Shahadat Hossain 11. Sayed Rasel I think the bowling in that team is as strong as possible, and the batsmen in it I expect all have the ability and the temperament to make big scores. I think Aftab Ahmed needs to go. In 27 Test innings, he's only passed 50 once. So even though I've never seen Farhed Reza, I think he's got to be given more of a go. Other than that (even though I'm going largely by stats) Nafees, Saleh and Shakib all look really solid. I saw the first two when they played Australia, and both did well, and both should be permament team members. |
