From this series Saleh has been the one that's impressed me the most. He has a good blend
of good defence and putting away the loose ball, not overly aggressive. Seems stubborn at
the crease. Just think he has a problem with concentration when his innings gets near the 50's and up.
Also I've enjoyed the attitudes of the team, most have smiles at various times and look like they are
enjoying the game, the contest.
In the first test on days 1 and 2 the crowd was small but loud and their enjoyment was infectious.
(Even me an Aussie seeing my team humbled a bit thought it was great).

I said it once and ill say it again Mohammad Ashraful is my favorite Bangladeshi player. He is a class act. I belive if he can improve his game a little when I say that I mean playing more constanly deffensive cricket. He may become the best batsman some day I doubt it but if he works hard he can do it. I think Ashraful plays too much like Afridi and Sehwag he has to learn that it takes experince to hit every ball hard for 4 and 6...

I voted for 'yes'.I really think that BD can do it.They have improved a lot.

Will they throw up a surprise in the World Cup like Kenya did?

Ashraful, I think is one of the most talented batsman in the world today, remember he scored his first test century against Sri Lanka when he was only 16, the youngest centurian ever against the likes of Murali and Vaas. Even Tendulkar could not score a century at that age although he made his debut at the same age. Ashraful needs to work hard and he still has time as he is only 20. Watch out for him in two to three years.

Well, its not about this generation. It is about the next generation. Bangledesh are a poor country, so a cricket player is high profile to most. The win over Australia will have put confidence high and made many youngsters willing to paly to be the hero. In about 10-20 years time, providing global warming hasn't flooded half their country, you could see a team with 5 or six players worthy of playing for the top nations. They, along with Zimbawbe, could try and compete amognst the top 8 if they can build a team.

The next generation for me is the one that wil count. If they can find and produce at least 5 or 6 truly world class players (maybe 1 'immortal' class player) than they can make it into the top 9 not the top 8. Same for Zimbawbe.

I would like to dismiss the notion that Bangladesh would cause another upset.

History suggests that in all of the previous world cups whenever a minnow team defeated an A listed team, rest of the teams became MORE cautious when it was their turn to face the minnow team and thats going to happen again.

Agreed BD is much better now but I feel SL and INDIA would not take BD for granted thx to the kiwis. Dont think BD is in for another surprise and IND and SL would sail through without losing to BD

But ...its definitely a very strong answer given by Kenya , Ireland , Bermuda and BD to what micheal holding said before the start of the world cup

If there is a minnow that can cause a big upset , it can be Kenya. Dont think any of the minnows would make it to the SUPER 8s. No minnow would come out big in near future ( say in next 2 world cups)...Thx to ICC's way of promoting the game. Cricket can be a global hit only thru 20-20 format

I think Bangladesh have a good chance of upseting a team in a world cup. They have done it before and they arent affraid to do it again YOU CAN ASK AUSTRALIA PLAYERS AND FANS

I think bangladesh have a great young pool and can become among the top five nations in the next decade.
