Bangladesh off the boil I felt Bangladesh were showing some genuine signs of improvement. some handy bowlers both pace and spin and some classy 'looking' strokemakers. The last test showed they have not improved enough...or is it that they have not been playing for a while?

The one positive they can take from the game was the performance of their new openers. Other than that not much unfortunately. NZ played poorly and still won with ease. Althoguh it was actually Bangladesh's best loss against NZ as thy had never before made them bat twice in a game in four or five tests.

I think as far as performances away from home go this counts as progress by Bangladesh as they haven't made sides bat twice very often when away. They are improving but still have a long way to go,it will be interesting to see how they do when they next play a home series.

Too early to say i guess,we will know more in a year or twos time when both have played a reasonable amount of games.Tamim at least got scores in both innings and we have to remember that both players are extremely young and inexperienced. I really hope they have found a couple of decent players for the future but only time will tell.

I second that. Where's the left arm seamer who was doing such a good job for them in, and in the lead up to, the WC?

After day one of the second test Bangladesh were all out for 143 and NZ are 133/3, The Bangladehis for the most part threw their wickets away and will dissapointed in themselves. Ashraful made 35 adn was unlucky to be given out, sadly at present I feel he is their only player who I would describe as being of quality. But it is a very young side so they'll only grow from the experience they're gaining in NZ

I'm always bewildered as to why Md. Ashraful is held in much higher regard, than say Bashar, or even Rajin Saleh. Saying that, all three should be in the side. Meanwhile, Mortaza and Shahadat are looking pretty good, as was Sayed Rasel. So my best Bangladesh lline-up at the moment would be: Tamim Iqbal Shariar Nafees Rajin Saleh Md. Ashraful Habibul Bashar (much better at 5- check out Howstat.com) Aftab Ahmed (should be bowled more) Khaled Mashud (the new guy really doesn't impress me) Md. Rafique (needs to be recalled-who have they got that's done better?) Mashrafe Mortaza Shahadat Hossain Sayed Rasel.

The only thing i may disagree on is the 'keeper - eventually youhave to pass the baton on - i think the time was right. Oh yes, they do have two handy spinners...at least they've been devastating against zim. Razaak and Jr |
