Connells CC Transfers Thread

Right, might as well keep it all in one thread, offers, purchases, and all else to do with transfers can go in here.

To start with, I am thinking of a wicket keeper to replace Binnion (see a couple of posts down).

Edit - Can rival managers please ignore this thread, it is for discussion between our directors and I'd like to discourage gazumping! :P

Blimey, that Chris Cross(ley) is a good keeper. Trouble is, none of them can bat and we don't have anywhere near enough money to spend on any of them! We're £70k overdrawn, we'd go bust if we go £300k overdrawn - basically, for the time being and until a Finance Director's been appointed, you can buy players up to an amount of £30k in total - we don't want to go past £100k overdrawn! Also, any player should be at least mediocre in either batting or bowling in order to sell them!!

I know, that's why I was asking how much we'd get for Binnion. Also, do we want a Fletcher-style wicketkeeper-batsman or a Read-style specialist keeper?

I might have to re-estimate the £1m i was hoping to get for Binnion if Chris Cross can't get a bid at £400k (I guess 'Chris Read' style keepers aren't too popular!!) I certainly think Binnion's replacement needs to be at least Mediocre in batting and concentration as well as having good keeping ability!

There are a couple more around the £100-150k mark, but these look good for cheap options.

That first chap looks an astute purchase! But the second one might be worth a bid to get him on the cheap and sell him at a profit...

Should we bid for both? What's the protocol? Do I need full board backing?

As long as the transfer fee would not take us £100k overdrawn and that the individual bid does not exceed £25k, then you have a free rein. When we've appointed a Finance Director, your budget will be set by them - but for now, take the £100k overdraft and £25k max. bid as your limits. Anything in excess of this requires approval
