I'm really not sure. We'll be ok for a few weeks now we're not investing in the youth team. Lets see how things run for a few weeks and see where we are at the end of the season.

Okay. I think we will have to get rid of one or two players in the off-season because wages are set to rise a fair bit next year.

Well, we fought off automatic relegation by beating Ramblers by 30 runs. Fifties for Rideegammanagedera (74), Cooper (76), Wright (65) and finally Beattie (63 not out from 51 balls). However, we must play a play-off against Club de Frobs next week. We must win that and then I think we have a strong chance of promotion next season with a settled, talented and more experienced squad.

...and we fought off relegation again today, beating Club de Frobs by 30 runs:

Code:

And that's the end of the match. Connells Estates CC won by 30 runs.

Connells Estates CC 239-6
Club De Frobs 209-10
Antoine took 3-24, Wright 2-35, Macey 2-41 and Midworth 2-46. Wright (71), Rideegammanagedera (65) and Beattie (62* off 56 balls) contributed with the bat but a seemingly tired Adu bagged a duck. Kent took 5 catches too. What an all-round performance from Wright.

Hammered Capel Llanitern CC (a new team) by 290 runs in the cup today. Rajesh scored 153 off 127 balls, Adu 172* off 151 balls (carying his bat for the first time) and Cooper 49* off 28 balls in our total of 394.

In reply Capel were bowled out for 104 in 22.1 overs with Wright taking 6-14 from 5 overs.

Season 4 Opener

We've won our opening match of the season against Ducks by 5 wickets, after Ducks made an unbeaten 280-0. Adu carried his bat again for another hundred and Donnelly made 82 before being dismissed penultimate ball, leaving Midworth to win it with a single.

And that's the end of the match. Connells Estates CC won by 5 wickets.

Ducks 280-0
Connells Estates CC 281-5

Hmmm. Not the most convincing of wins. For our lauded bowling attack not to take a wicket is pretty shoddy. Still, I'll take the win if its all the same!

EDIT: I just had a look at Ducks' team, and their opening batsman Daniell has a bt rating of 210,000!!! I'm going to revise how well I thought we did to say we did bloody well to beat them!

Winning is what counts, and especially a win against a team with an international batsman ten times better than our best player!

Adu now has two unbeaten centuries in two appearances this season. Donnelly hasn't batted for ages but surprised me after two of our best batsmen went for goldens!

Well, by my own fault, messing around witht he team, we lost to Highland Chieftans in the cup today, so no more of a cup run for us this year. Castle got carted for 80 in his ten overs, maybe we should sell him when we have the next youth pull.
