Thumbs up Congratulations Bangladesh!

Excellent performance and a fantastic game of cricket for them. To top it all, Australia did not play badly, did try very, very hard, and bar Symonds, had their best team on the park.

The vulnerabilities in the Australian ODI outfit exposed during the VB series by Pakistan have come to the fore during this tour - they could do with Warne and Bevan making comebacks, since the replacements have been found wanting. Katich at no.7 in a ODI? How is he going to score at 8-10 an over for 10 overs? And really, they need more than three and a half bowlers - three good pacers, plus a half a decent bowler in Hogg is just not enough, the part-timers are too inconsistent. Maybe an all-rounder like Watson needs to be considered.

I have been glued to the telly watching this all day, hence must now run and finish all those chores - more meaningful analysis re Bangladesh later!

Congratulations to Bangladesh. The joy of the Tiger fans is quite understandable. Looks like this moment was to come soon anyway. A quick glance at their domestic structure suggests that cricket is being conducted similarly to their soccer with tournments based on regions as well as competion among professional clubs. As in soccer, I'm sure the club level cricket matches generate intense competition and rivalry assisting these players to become mentally stronger and competitive. Further, if the priority is being set for cricket like their economy, i.e. more emphasis on getting the basics right rather than looking for quick results, we will be hearing a lot more of Bangladeshi team in the years to come.

Well done Bangledesh. This victory was well deserved beating an almost full strength Australia. Keep the strong performances going as this will be better for world cricket.

I hope this performace gives Bangladesh the confidence to progress in both ODI and test cricket. They clearly have talented players, and yesterday wasn't the first time Ashraful has got people to notice him. Aftab also looks like a guy with real potential. The good thing for Bangladesh is that the guys who have performed well are still pretty young - 21 and 16 I believe. So they have the nucleus of some good talent to build around for many years, and this can only help when new players come into the team later. I hope this result turns out to be kick start to the next stage of Bangladeshi development rather than a one-off. So enjoy it, Tigers, and may there be many more parties in the future.
