Greatest upset ever?

First of all, congratulations to Bangladeshi tigers for putting up a tigerish performance on the field. I think this is the greatest upset of all time. Ashraful, you are a genius!! and Aftab Ahmed, what audacity he has, hitting a six of Gillespie in the final over and virtually sealing the game. I'm starting this thread to find out from you all whether this is the biggest upset in ODI history or can you think of another occasion?

I think it has happened to England when Zimbabwe were only minows, by that I mean before the days of the flower bros etal.

Good stuff Hondo, I knew Zimbabwe had beat England, but no 9-Canada beating Bangladesh.

It shows the magnitude of todays defeat by Bangladesh-what next?.

Without having read the article, I'd say this is the second biggest upset. A bunch of Zimbabwean part-timers were sent to the World Cup in 1983, where Duncan Fletcher carried the team to an 11 run victory against the full-time professional Australians. Furthermore, this was Zimbabwe's first International match. But this comes a close second.

Who could forget the plumber Codrington taking 5-20 odd against Bangla in the World Cup for Canada? Some effort.

That match was rated as the 4th biggest upset in the history of cricket. Im my honest opinion, Bangaladesh upset should be at the top as stated by the article.

I'd leave it as second, as Bangladesh has had a few years experience compared to Zimbabwe, and they have dealth a few upsets in the past already, although that Pakistan victory looked very dodgy to me, and the Indian victory was with a second-rate Indian side.

This win here outclasses those to victories by some margin.

I don't think so. Bangladesh have now ability to beat any country in their day. Because now they are a grown up team. The cubs became teenager and learning to hunt. After some years they will start full hunting. SO I will not tell that it was the biggest upset. It just an example that Bangladesh is coming and they will rule the cricket world after some years. So I don't agree with you.

lol i haven't seen the zimbabwe match against australia, so i guess i'd call this (b'desh beating the aussies) the biggest upset ever

but i'm not gonna be arrogant and say that they're gonna rule the cricket world in a few years lol, i don't have THAT much confidence in them
