does anyone play Cricket??

i thought i would like to know how many people play cricket or have played cricket before and where they play...
so if you ever played cricket for a team, or just for fun maybe, then tell us all, where do you play in:

1- Batting order (what are you? a tailender? opening batter? Middle order?)
2- Type of player you are (batter, bowler, all-rounder?)
3- Where do you field(slips? off-side...mid on?)
4- also are you any good

myself, in the batting order, i vary my position, sometimes opening batter, or in the middle order, or tailender...

i am i Fast bowler, but a handy batter(like ashley giles)

i field either in the slips, or short leg, gulley and sometimes mid-off

i am reasonable, i can swing the ball both ways, i am a very defensive batter, hard to dismiss...sometimes i am the captain...

Well, since you're asking...!

I'm a suicidal batsman, batting anywhere between 1 and 5, number 3 usually. I like to think of myself as an all-rounder, but i'm not really, wishful thinking i suppose! Bowl leg spin or medium-quick swing, i don't bowl that often though so i'm out of practice!
Fielding: either first slip or cover, on occasions i took over from our wicketkeeper when he was having a bad day!
Of course i'm good, honestly, what kind of question is that?!?!

1- Batting order - Im an opener who always facies the first ball, like getting bat on ball ASAP
2- Type of player you are - Im a batter who can bowl a few Medium and Off-Break balls, not always the best ones though!
3- Where do you field - 1st or 2nd slip
4- Are you any good - Ermm, Im a decent player, Im no where near good enough to make a living out of it but I play it more for enjoyment then anything. However Im always a decent batter in school teams and stuff

1. Been pushed around the order but find myself most comfortable when opening the innings. Last season I had two goes at the top, making 16 and 9, 3 chances in the middle, where I made 7, 2 and 2 and then back to the top for the last five games where I made 75, 56, 43 not out, 30 and 68.

2. I'm a batsman who took 7 wickets in 5 overs last year. I bowl slow, off-spinning rubbish and I rely on accuracy and flite. I took 3-3 off 1 over in one match and held the best average, which was 3. I have a decent change of pace though and it sometimes gets the batsman out. Unfortunately, if I don't bowl the same ball every time it goes flying to the boundary.

3. Actually I'm a very good catcher. Never put one down. Took a couple of screamers at Mid-Off and a blinder at slip. My throwing arm isn't much though- hence my slow off-spinning garbage. So mainly I field "in the ring".

4. I'm ok. My scores might seem crash hot but I was playing in the Under 16 Division 2 competition.

I'm hoping to get into the reserves next year so I can be amid the heavy drinking culture, captained by a big red-nosed drinker, whom, from what I'm told, usually has about 3 or 4 cans of VB before he goes out to bat.

Cool Cricket Domestic?

I love cricket and I play it a lot. Now what I am trying to do is that I hope to play for a Pakistani domestic team. I think I have good skills.

My batting postion is 1-6
I am a allrounder
My bowling type is a right arm fast medium not the Shoiab Akhtar
My feilding places are at gully and 2nd slip I even can play wicket keeper IF NEEDED
I think I am a preatty good player and I hope the hard work pays off My dream as a cricketer is to learn from the greats and become a cricketer and a great too and if I put lots of affort in to this thought I might be playing for a domestic team or even TEAM PAKISTAN...

Anthor thing is any body TRYING to get into a domestic team?

My type of team, can I play for you in winters?
1. I usually bat about 8ish, coming in to hurry the scoring up at the end. I didnt have to bother putting my pads on in the juniors last year because our top order never got out. I've got a bit of a reputation of being a big hitter now, after a couple of knocks where I had to aim for about 10 an over so I resorted to launching everything from the start. I do have a measured approach of deadbatting every ball as well, but not a lot in between. I actually nearly killed the coach tonight when he was watching us from a balcony and I hit a straight drive straight at him . It just missed which was lucky seeing as he was watching the other net and didnt see it coming. Ive injured a few bowlers on their follow throughs so some have now taken to bowling then running out of the net before I hit it, which does nothing for my concentration, resulting in me trying the most outrageous shots I can think of. I always bat last in nets for the end of night entertainment. Despite this, I do take my batting seriously in games and had a reasonable season last year (my average was hampered by 2 bat before wicket decisions against me and getting run out taking 2 to the bowlers hand off the last ball of our innings - to be fair though we had just put on 41 for the las wicket in about 20 balls)
2. Im a medium pace swing / seam bowler, I usually open and often bowl the last few overs at the death (particularly if the balls disappearing to all parts and the skipper doesnt fancy ruining his average ) I'm not explosive but I tend to be quite economical and tight so I get quite a few overs. I have been known to bowl occasional leggies when we want to buy wickets (I can turn it a lot and bowl a decent topspinner, if I'm lucky it even lands on the strip) I keep wicket when I have to, once I did it in a cup game staight after bowling my allocation of oversopening at one end. I'm not bad as an emergency keeper but I dont do it enough to improve as much as Id like, particularly standing up.
3. I like fielding in the covers or at point, but I can catch (tempting fate) and have a strong arm so I often go on the boundaries for slowies, and occasionally get stuck at slip when no-one else wants it. I always seem to get lumbered with short leg in junior games when we want someone in the firing line.
4. I'm not too bad, Ive played for a couple of league representative sides at different age groups, won pretty much all the junior trophies going in our league and a couple of others, not that its all down to me, we have a very good team and we play for each other. I won the 3rd XI bowling averages a couple of years ago but missed most of last year with a back problem (not cricket induced but it stopped me playing). I try to be as good as I can be but Im playing for fun, rather than to play professionally.

I was always an opening batsman who can bowl if needed.

I was a sharp batsman with abilities to defend and attack equally well. I have played some very exciting cricket in India. I was never a very good bowler but was a handy option for the captian.

I wish I could play cricket today. My work hours barely allow me time to surf the net and keep myself updated on cricket. And yes, sometimes I watch cricket by excusing myself from office for bad health.

Well, I like batting in the middle order... Number 4 or 5 is good for me. I like to think of myself as an aggressive batsmen, and I love to hit the ball hard and far

As for bowling, I am a quick bowler, usually opening or first change. I dont really swing the ball, but I seem to get movement off the seam.

I like fielding in the covers and at point. I once fielded on slips, and it was a disaster. My team needed 1 wicket to win, and the batsman got an edge and I dropped it, and that happened twice!!! The opposition ended up winning, and I've never fielded in slips again :P

I believe I am a handy cricketer, with the ability to score runs when needed, and also to take wickets at a good average.
