Bat, Bats, Bats

Hello all of my little cricketing chums! I need a bit if help please -

I am looking to buy an Asian bat, as I need a new one and I'd like to try one. Does anyone know any good websites or mail order companies in the UK (or abroad) that specialise in Asian Bats. The brands I'm interested in are -

BAS, SS, Reebok, CA, Malik or AM.

Can anyone help?

Before buying compare the relative merits of English willow and Kashmir willow in this article: English Willow versus Kashmir Willow
Google should throw up some online stores like: Cricket People
Even Argos sell Kashmir Willow bats.

You could drive over to Slough TTFC. Malik Sports on the Farnham Road stocks a good range, they have all the Malik Bats available and more.

Alternatively I've found a website cricmall.com that seems to do all of the main Asian bats at decent prices.

I'm in need of a new bat for the coming season, having broken my Kookaburra, but haven't really decided between Asian or English. I'm even thinking about getting hold of a Laver & Wood bat or a Charlie French one.

Thanks Notts - I'll look into that. I used to sell Charlie French bats, but they were his lower quality ones. They were absolutely fantastic bats, but they were really only tough enough for 2 seasons use. However, I would expect the better quality ones would be more durable.

The only thing I don't like about Charlie's bats are the stickers, as they look bloody awful!

If you can find a company called Fusion Bats, or Fusion Cricket www.fusionsports.co.uk someone else was raving about them on another forum, saying they were fantastic, and they run a try before you buy and a custom make service. Could be worth checking out.

TTFC,

My tip is - head up the A3 and go to Fordham Sports just the other side of Kingston, the bats are hand selected by the owner and they offer a very good running in service, plus they guarantee the bat so that if anything does go wrong you can get your money back.

I have never had a bad bat from there and my current bat has a superb middle (the problem is that I very rarely found it!!)

I am not too sure that they do many Asian bats though, but a number of the players at my club have Maliks and they love them.

Anyone Used The New Puma Classic LE Bat? ...General bat thread

Gday,

Just wondering if anyone has or has used the new Puma Classic LE Bat thats recently come out. Iv recently had a look and it feels great, although i would prefer not too pay the prices for these top of the range bats.

Can anyone help me here? It would be appreciated. Or if youve bought a bat recently feel free to tell us how it goes.

Thanks

Well, I'll return to this thread and tell you that I did buy an Asian bat in the end, and I bought it from a wonderfully helpfull man at a good site called - www.allroundcricket.co.uk it has a big bow, is bottom heavy and a superb middle. But the best thing is, it's made by a Pakistani firm called H-Direct, and is called a 'Top Banana'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe it!? It cost me £25 - yes 25 quid!!!!!! and this season I scored my highest ever score, including a monster 6 over the carpark. It has bright yellow stickers with Top Banana written down the back, and little bananas down the edges, and I love it.
