I'm struggling to contain myself about the Matrrixx, especially as he'll knock it in, antiscuff it, put on a toe guard and an extra grip all within the price!!!! All ready for ultimate destruction!!!

However, in the interests of balance, I thought I'd show all you 'batfans' a picture of my Top Banana:-

Banana because of the way that they are shaped - and 'Top Banana' is an oft used British phrase meaning that something is 'super'.

Hey Zainub, H-Direct (who make the bats) are a Pakistani firm - you couldn't do a bit of detective work for me and find out where their factory is? There's a lassi in it for you!

Hey TTFC. I am from SA, we have some decent bats here and it is quite cheap. There is a factory here in CApe town , where I live. These guys will make the bat from scratch according to your specs. Check it out at http://www.dpcricket.co.za. They are launching a new range of bats this year but I see that the website is not updated yet. Anyway, check it out anyway.

Very nice looking bats Gibbs Fan, they are very desirable indeed - however, as with all other manufacturers - still expensive compared to Asian bats - it's the way of the world I suppose.

I quite fancy an 'Attack' bat from their range though!

Yes TTFC, it is a bit expensive but you can have them made out of Kashmir willow which brings the price down to about 30 - 40 pounds.

Are sub continent bats made out of Kashmir or English willow. My friend imported an MRC bat (like Tendulkars), it was made out of Kashmir willow. The performace of the bat is great and I dont really think the willow makes that much of a difference at club level.

I feel that Kashmir Willow is a bit more variable, and definately won't last as long as english willow, so I would buy English willow if I had the choice.

The Matrixx I want is apparently Grade 1 English willow, and will be supplied to me knocked in, with anti-scuff and a toe-guard and postage and packing for £75, which I think is pretty good value.

My Top Banana was Grade 3 English Willow, and was supplied to me including postage and nothing else for £35.

A guy who plays at my club and is also a BA Steward, brings back Kashmir willow bats every time he goes to India - but some of the ones he's brought back are poor, and others are OK. In fact the one good one I've seen in action was an MRF.

Now thats good value. A UK "named" brand of that quality willow would be twice that.

I would never buy Kashmir willow, I thought that Kashmir Willow was only made for childrens bats. In Australia I don't think they make Kashmir Willow bats for adults.
