Hello all.
I am thinking of taking up cricket but have a few questions to ask before I do so. Hopefully people can answer these questions
1. I have been a cricket fan all my life and would say I have a good understanding of the game. However I have never actually played it. This is mainly due to me being involved in other sports during the summer months that I have little or no involvement in now so am free to take up cricket. However, I am 26 Years old. Is this too old for a complete novice to start? I have an idea that I will be a better batsman than a bowler or fielder but I'm not quite sure what I am basing this on.
2. I think there are quite a few clubs in my area but some of them only have one team and others have 3, 4 or even more. Presumably if I join a club that has a lot of teams, assuming I am not a complete natural, there is more chance of getting a game or is this not how it works?
3. Will the teams have bats, balls, pads etc to get me started or will I have to shell out on these myself?
I think that's it for now but I may think of some more questions in a bit
