My predictions for the semis are Pakistan to beat Australia and Sri Lanka to defeat New Zealand. Both semis are at Dhaka which hasn't been used before so no team has an advantage there. In their previous matches, Pakistan and Australia scored well on good batting surfaces. All of Pakistan's top order made starts and batted aggressively and I think they will be too strong for the Australian bowlers who allowed too many extras against India. Sri Lanka and New Zealand both played on difficult batting wickets in their previous matches so we can compare their respective performances. I've selected Sri Lanka in their match because I feel they have a better balanced side with all bowlers capable of taking wickets and a strong top-order. New Zealand have a a fragile lower-order and are likely to be bowled out under 50 overs. New Zealand will be hoping for another strong performance from Vettori to keep Sri Lanka's batting to a gettable total.

Do we have scores and short reports from the first round games?
