Group A Matches

V

AUSTRALIA v WEST INDIES:

West Indies (307/7) beat Australia (263/5) by 44 runs.

West Indies got their season back on track with a brilliant victory over the Australians. From the offset, the West Indies looked in fine batting touch scoring above 300. The Aussies never looked like they had the ability to chase it down and went into defensive mode.

Man Of The Match: butchering lee

V

INDIA v NEW ZEALAND:

India (273/7) beat New Zealand (270/9) by 3 wickets.

India sent the New Zealanders into bat after winning the toss on a poor batting surface. The New Zealanders did well against the Indian attack to surpass 250. But they never looked like defending it as the Indians reached the target with just 11 balls to spare.

Man Of The Match: cantplaycantalk

Group B Matches

V

ENGLAND v SRI LANKA @ Lord's:

England (192) beat Sri Lanka (187) by 5 runs.

The WAT One Day Cup runners up suffered a shock defeat at Lord's in a very low scoring game. The English looked down and out of it after only scoring a measly 192. But an amazing bowling comeback, led by admin, left the Sri Lankans in shock after losing it by only 5 runs!

Man Of The Match: admin

V

SOUTH AFRICA v PAKISTAN @ Cape Town:

Pakistan (273/3) beat South Africa (247) by 26 runs.

Pakistan kept their unbeaten ODI run going after downing South Africa at Cape Town. Pakistan, through Younis Khan, made use of their decision to bat by scoring at a fast pace reaching 270+. Then the great bowling attack came out and demolished the South Africans.

Man Of The Match: Younis Khan

Talking

How on earth did we win that??

Murali bowled really well and it was on Jones and Maranello who did anything with the bat.

But our bowling was brilliant. admin (4-47) and myself (3-31) were at top quality.

Still a great performance by sri lanka. 5 runs is a painful loss!
