| Group A Matches V ![]() INDIA v AUSTRALIA @ Calcutta: India (371 & 298/6) beat Australia (357 & 308) by 4 wickets. In the clash of the two titans, it was always going to pretty close - and the first innigs especially was very close. The Indian bowlers and batters ended up the slightly better of the two and now India are on an excellent unbeaten run of 3 tests in a row! Man Of The Match: cantplaycantalk V ![]() WEST INDIES v NEW ZEALAND @ Sabina Park: West Indies (527) beat New Zealand (171 & 347) by an innings and 9 runs! A match in which the test of the teams really showed up as the West Indians got to an amazing total of 527 on a poor batting pitch. New Zealand had no chance and were forced to follow on after scoring a measly total of 171! West Indies have brought themselves back into group-winning contention now! | Group B Matches V ![]() SOUTH AFRICA v ENGLAND @ Cape Town: England (337 & 284) beat South Africa (219 & 260) by 142 runs. England finally looked like a proper outfit by thrashing the Saffers on their own turf! England's batsmen were the only of the two groups to surpass the 300 mark, and in the end, that was the difference between winning and losing this match Man Of The Match: Beny V ![]() SRI LANKA v PAKISTAN @ Colombo: Pakistan (284 & 424/5) beat Sri Lanka (183 & 524) by 5 wickets. Two amazingly contrasting batting performances from the Sri Lankans left them with a chance of winning after their diabolical first innings performance. However, Pakistan were not frustrated by the occasion and beat the world record total chased down to win a test match!
