| Group A Matches V ![]() AUSTRALIA v NEW ZEALAND @ MCG: Australia (439 & 163/3) beat New Zealand (284 & 315) by 7 wickets. The Australians have propped themselves into pole position for a semi final place. After the New Zealanders decided to bat and got a mere 284 thanks to 4-47 from Occasional Fan, it was obvious that the Australians were in a winning mode. A great 92 from Justin Langer propped the Aussies up to 439, with a lead over their neighbours of 155. The New Zealanders did far better in the second innings due to each of the top three batsmen crossing 50. However, due to the Aussies massive first innings lead, they only required 160 to win - and they got there comfortably with Justin Langer scoring 81 not out. Man Of The Match: Justin Langer V ![]() INDIA v WEST INDIES @ Calcutta: India (591/5d & 4/0) beat West Indies (319 & 275) by 10 wickets. A crushing win for the group leaders confirms them a semi final place. A great first innings from the Indians set the tone of the match. Three players crossed the century mark (cantplaycantalk 232, Sachin Tendulkar 113 & Trescothick 123no) as the Indians declared on a huge score! The West Indies struggled all along, and were forced to follow on after 3-70 from Pathan. The West Indies second innings was no better than their first - Pathan again the strike bowler taking 4-60. From then on it was an easy run in for the Indians who only required 3 runs to win. Man Of The Match: cantplaycantalk Check out the scorecards to see how YOU did! |

| Group B Matches V ![]() ENGLAND v PAKISTAN @ Lord's: England (274 & 328) beat Pakistan (159 & 266) by 177 runs. England have prevented Pakistan from sealing a semi final place after a crushing win over the tournament favourites. This puts the English on equal points with the Pakistanis. However, for a time, it looked like Pakistan could win it. The English first innings was dire and ended on 274ao. Then, however, through rolfusmercartor (4-30), England triggered a huge Pakistan collapse to end up leading by 115 runs. The English second innings was alot better featuring a great 62 from Andrew Strauss then through 5-57 from Giles, the Pakistani's failed again and might not make it to the semis! Man Of The Match: Ashley Giles V ![]() SOUTH AFRICA v SRI LANKA @ Cape Town: South Africa (471/7d & 296/7d) beat Sri Lanka (338 & 274) by 155 runs. The second crushing victory in a row in Group B - this now confirms that Sri Lanka cannot make it through to the semi finals and that three teams in the group are all equal on 6 points going into the final set of matches. Back to this match, the South Africans declared twice in the match to bring them a massive victory. Great batting from Lemming (128), Ashwell Prince (102) and AB deVilliers (97), enabled the declaration twice. However there was some resistance from Sri Lanka through Mr Kiwi's 101, however, John's 6-56 ensured that South Africa ended up with a lead. Another Sri Lankan century maker appeared in the second innings, arsalan660 scored a great 115 but it was not enough to prevent a massive loss. Man Of The Match: Lemming Check out the scorecards to see how YOU did! |

| Great game for the Indians, I scored a mighty 36 in the first innings...three centuries in the innings wasn't too bad though.
