| Interview With Indian Player Vrock7 Hello and welcome to sunny Melbourne, just 2 days before the first semi final of the Pepsi Test Series. The two subcontinent rivals will battle it out in an allstar encounter. One, which will also feature Indian opener Vrock7, who is here to talk with us today. 1) So vrock7, overall, are you pleased with your performances for India this season? I started well in the first couple of games I think, however I dipped in form and have been frustrated with my run of low scores. 2) How ecstatic is the Indian camp after getting through to the knockout stages? The dressing room is really energetic at the moment and we are really looking forward to the semis. 3) Who do you think will win the match on Thursday? All I can say is that I think I will be playing in the final. 4) You are facing the unbeaten Pakistani's in the VB One Day Series in a week, do you think you can end their great form? Pakistan have shown good form through the season. I think we can stop them but it would take a great performance. 5) Finally, how do you rate your chances of getting into either the test or one day WAT XI? There is some tough competition from all the other opening batsmen. If I can pull off some great scores you never know. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks Vrock7 No promlem w3lshrugby; now i must get back to some lengthy periods in the nets! Join us again tomorrow for a look in on the recent performances of both teams. |

| India And Pakistan Statistics In Tests On the eve of the match, we take a look at how the two teams have performed this season. Both teams have won 4 and lost 2 of their tests as we head into this semi-final. The Indian team average per innings is 286. The Pakistan team average is slightly higher at 315. The Indians are the only of the two teams to have played at the MCG this season, and they lost by 8 wickets to the home side, Australia. (Off-topic) I will have to post the match today as I am going away until Friday/Saturday as of about 12pm. Judging by these statistics, Pakistan are slight favourites in what should be a great encounter! |

| The Match Hello, and welcome to the match! An exciting contest is anticipated - so here we go! India won the toss and decided to BOWL first. Pakistan took full advantage of a terrible toss decision by the Indian captain and they piled on a big 457ao including a hundred and fifty, a century and a 99! The pick of the Indian bowling coming from Aussie-Yank with 3-78. PAKISTAN 1st INNS: 457/10 India's response to the big score was good, but they couldnt cross the 400 barrier and left Pakistan with a helpful lead of 80. Four half centuries guided the Indians to a good enough total, which still keeps them in the match. The pick of the bowlers being Pete with 3-69. INDIA 1st INNS: 377/10 - Pakistan lead by 80 runs. Pakistan again batted well with 78 from greg and 166* from Oliver, as they declared on 333/6, leaving India to chase down a big target of 414 to advance to the final. The best Indian bowler was again Aussie-Yank with 2-43. PAKISTAN 2nd INNS: 333/6d - India require 414 to win. India never looked like chasing down the target as they were comprehensively defeated as they scored 258/10. There were again 3 half centuries from the Indians, but thats about all. Pakistan's Pete took 4-53 and sealed a famous victory which advances the Pakistani's into the Pepsi Test Series Final as they won by a staggering 155 runs.
