Australia V Sri Lanka @ Auckland - 1st Semi Final

V

AUSTRALIA v SRI LANKA @ Auckland:

-After winning the toss, Sri Lanka racked up a massive score through their batsmen as they reached 385/3 from the 50 overs. The highlights being Mr Kiwi's 97 from 87, and Jayawardene's brilliant 106 from 87 also. The Australian bowling suffered terribly, none of their bowlers had an economy rate of under 6!
-Australia remarkably came back to snatch an amazing victory from the jaws of defeat. An amazing 123 from 103 from Justin Langer left the expected finalists stunned as they were knocked out of the competition. Ponting, Hussey and Zainub backed up Langer with fine half centuries. Australia now move on into the final of the one day competiton.

Australia (386/4) beat Sri Lanka (385/3) by 6 wickets.

Man Of The Match: Justin Langer

Looks like Australia are still in the mood for setting huge totals at the moment. 434 and 385 ain't too bad for ODI's

Pakistan V India - VB One Day Series 2nd Semi Final

V

PAKISTAN V INDIA @ Sabina Park:

- Pakistan enjoyed a run-feast in their innings, with all of their batsmen crossing the 30 mark! Salman Butt was the most impressive with a great 136 off 113 including 16 fours and 3 sixes! Their final score was triple nelson as they ended on 333/4. The Indian bowlers had little to celebrate, with Pathan the only striker with 2-63, as the other wickets came through runouts.
- India had no answer to the huge score set by Pakistan. With only Vrock, Gambhir and Tendulkar scoring above 50, the Indians had no chance. Their lineup also succumbed to the Pakistani bowlers, with Pete taking 4-51, Mellon taking 1-54, Akhtar with 1-40, Afridi with 1-57 and finally, Uham with 2-45. These bowlers reduced India to a paltry total of 256/9.

Pakistan (333/4) beat India (256/9) by 77 runs.

Man Of The Match: Salman Butt

VB One Day Series Final

Hello and welcome to a full-packed Lord's for the final of the VB One Day Series between Pakistan and Australia. Pakistan are the slight favourites today after having won the previous one day tournament at the start of the season. So, lets go!

V

PAKISTAN v AUSTRALIA @ Lord's

- The Australians started quite well with their main batsmen all scoring above 20. However, from then, it all went downhill. They found that they could not hit out as the bowlers were containing them and taking wickets at crucial stages. Mainly through Uham, who took 6-29, Pakistan bowled the Aussies out for a chaseable total of 224 off 48.3 overs. Shoaib Akhtar provided good support for Uham with 3-34.
- Pakistan always looked like chasing down a pretty low total by their standards! The openers both scored well, with 24 and 35 respectively, but it was the top-middle order that did the damage with Khan scoring 46, Oliver with 45. The innings of the day, however, came from Yousuf, who scored a great 57 off just 34 balls! So, Pakistan wrap up the final and the VB One Day Series!

Pakistan (225/3) beat Australia (224) by 7 wickets

Man Of The Match: Uham
