Mike Hailwood Talks To Cricketnews.com

INTERVIEW AT THE TRAINING CAMP

By Picky Ronting ( )

Hi Mike and good luck with your upcoming tour to Bangladesh. What do you think a newly formed WAT team can do out in the heat of Dhaka?

We can put up a show against the Tiger's - thats for sure, the heat won't be a problem.

With such a diverse team touring this season, are you all going to be able to cope with each other?

Yep it's a bit strange, but we have some dressing room wags, we get on fine most of the time, will have to see how we can play as a unit, but Bangladesh is perfect opposition for starters

Finally, as I can see you are busy training, what are you, individually hoping for over the coming 12 - 18 months or so, and do you think you can beat Australia and England?

Yes for sure, England will be hard to beat, but Australia are bound to struggle knitting a team of youngsters together. On a personal basis I have to make sure I try and get some runs, there are other spinners in the squad that can bat as well as turn their arms over.

So I am taking nothing for granted at this stage, the competition for the spinners place is tough.

Thanks very much Mike, and have a good flight to Bangladesh.

Yea cheers - looking forward to the flight.
