After my performances in training I was disappointed to not make the XI, but the squad is full of quality and I will try to impress for the second game.

Thursday 07 Dec Training Report All players trained well - but star of the session was Chris Wilson, who is looking ever more likely for a test match spot in the second test.

Training Update - Sat 9th December - Second Test Coming... Training After the huge victory in the first test, training was a relaxing breeze. Now we knew that we would probably be able to beat Bangadesh next week and win the series, we all sat around and had a swim in the hotel pool. A two-hour nets session was held at roughly 10am this morning just to see who would come into the team in place of Hamza Ansari for the second test. Chris Wilson and Bitchie Renauld performed the best out of all of the WAT bowlers who weren't chosen for the first test. Chris Wilson is likely to secure a test berth on Tuesday, wheras Bitchie Renauld is doubtful due an ankle niggle. Ooglie Booglie Team Coach

Bangladesh V World A Team XI 2nd Test, Chittagong Pitch State = Normal Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat WAT XI Quagmire Rhys Williams Rehan Greg Jones + Hashim Malik Hamza Ansari Chris Wilson Rolf Merchant Kartik Ketz Rifat Bangladesh First Innings 107 all out Bangladesh got off to a dreadful start in this second test match, scoring only just over 100 runs. They must be extremely disappointed considering this is not even a poor pitch! Top scorer being Naimur Rahman with 25. The Tigers' coach will have stern words about that performance. On the bowling side, it was a one-man show. Ketz, the offie, took 6/28 in a stinit of just 11 overs. Every time he was bowling, the tension could be felt - was he going to get a wicket or not? Alas, he did, and singlehandedly ripped through the Deshi lineup. Could World-A-Team set a better standard of batting? World A Team First Innings 425 all out World-A-Team showed the Tigers how to bat in this splendid innings - however, after being 363/3, collapsing to 425 all out shows a weakness. Quagmire, once again, provided the batting spectacle, with 176. He was well backed up by the top order, including Rehan (93) and Greg Jones (41). However, a spectacular failure in the middle order and tail sent shockwaves through the coaching staff. If that collapse had come earlier, the team could've been in serious trouble. Chris Wilson, the debutant, kept control of the situation with a well worked 29 not out - but could he back it up with some good bowling figures? Tigers' wise, nothing was really going well until the collapse. Bowling figures looked alot better than they really should've been. However, Mohammad Rafique deserves some applause for taking 4/56 - by far their best bowler. Could the Tigers' prevent an innings defeat? Bangladesh Second Innings 208 all out Bangladesh showed a bit more gusto in their second innings. Maybe the sign of a fightback in the third test? However, they could still not prevent an innings defeat. The batting, in general, was most players starting, but not converting any of the starts into something big. The top scorer was Animul Islam with 50. Bowling wise, it was a bit more of a mixed innings. Ketz only picked up a single wicket, depriving him of the man-of-match award. The best bowling came from Kartik with 4/38. Rolf Merchant did not bowl so well, and his place is under threat for the third test. World A Team defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 110 runs [i]Man Of The Match: Quagmire[/] World A Team High Points: - Quagmire & Top Order Batting - Chris Wilson showed a solid first performance with 29* and 2 wickets in 2nd inns. - Ketz' first inns. performance - The fast bowling went well in both innings (esp. from Rifat and Kartik) World A Team Low Points: - The middle order batting. - The tail batting. - Hashim Malik & Hamza Ansari. - Rolf Merchant was the worst player. Scored 1 in batting, and took 2/84 match figures. Check the scorecard for details of how YOU did! Join us for the third test next Tuesday. What will the WAT XI be? Will the Tigers' being the series back to 2-1, or will WAT take their first test series 3-0, and whitewash the Deshi's? - Please comment on your performances and your predictions. Rhys.

Right, I'm going to announce the team for the third test now, so you guys can chat about it. WAT XI Quagmire Rhys Williams Rehan Greg Jones V-Rock Chris Wilson Kartik Hailwood Merchant Ketz Rifat Not a very strong batting line-up there - but a hugely strong bowling one. I'm looking for another emphatic victory. The inclusion of Rolf Merchant my come as a surprise, but I left Hashim Malik out, so there was room for him.
