Welcome to the Dhaka CC training ground - where our WAT players are hard at it practicing for that all important 3 day match against Dhaka CC which begins on Wednesday. The best performer in training today was Chris Wilson along with V Rock. Chris Wilson bowled and batted superbly and is a must for the XI on Wednesday. Team coach, Ooglie Booglie, was not disappointed with anyone, but said that there were areas to work on - especially with Rhys Williams' batting, if the team are to be successful this season. Join us tomorrow for a quick taster of the 3 day warm up, including another training update - and the release of the teams.

I'm feeling in tremendous shape, all that carrying of shopping back from Tesco at home does wonders for the shoulder strength when bowling!

First Team Line-Up The 1st XI has been released for the first Test match against Bangladesh at Dhaka. The pitch is POOR - and thus good for bowling. WAT-XI Adam Berry (+) Quagmire Rhys Williams (*) Rehan Hashim Malik V-Rock Rolf Merchant Kartik Mike Hailwood Ketz Hamza Ansari Hamza Ansari was shoved into the Number 11 spot after Rifat tripped over and will not be able to play until the 2nd Test in a week's time. It is a very strong line-up with great batters and bowlers out there - including the three spinners of Hailwood, Ketz and V-Rock. The Bangladeshi XI will be an XI from around 2003 (because I couldn't be bothered to change the whole Banga team) Match coming up later (2200 GMT)

First Test Match BANGLADESH v WORLD-A-TEAM Dhaka Pitch State = Poor Umpires = Aleem Dar and Rudi Koertzen Bangladesh First Innings 131 all out A very poor innings from the Tigers batsmen. Ammassing a feeble total of 131/10 in 60 overs is a way below what people would've expected from a Bangladeshi side confident of a first test victory. The only real shine of the innings was Shahriar Hossain with a brilliant knock of 58. Animul Islam backed this up with a well earnt 21 on a rapidly deteriorating pitch - and we're only on day one! From a bowling point of view, WAT should take many positives. Rolf Merchant (the fast bowler) taking 3/21 and Ketz (the off spinner) taking 3/24. The other bowlers backed these two up with very economical spells, picking up the odd wicket here and there. World-A-Team First Innings 354 all out A good knock-out by the team in general with a supreme 136 from star-opener Quagmire. This was backed up with a good 93 from Rehan and a good knock of 36 from Rhys Williams. World-A-Team, however, should be disappointed with the efforts of their other batsmen, as they all failed. Mike Hailwood and Ketz bumped the score over 300 with excellent knocks of 19 and 18 respectively. They will be looking for an innings victory from here on in. From the bowlers perspective, the Tigers did pretty well, especially through Manjural Islam who took 5/64. The other main bowlers backed him up well. But was it a good enough performance to save the Tigers from a now even more likely innings defeat? Bangladesh Second Innings 116 all out An even worse batting display from the Tigers ended their hopes of a solid first test performance. None of the players scored any major runs - however, the main batsmen all got into double figures. Not alot of good to talk about from a batting perspective. The bowlers had a great day out there. Once again, the stars of the innings were Rolf Merchant, who took 3/39 in this innings, and Ketz, who took 4/17 in this innings - virtually handing him the man of the match award with match figures of 7/45! The bowlers can take many positives from this test and will be bristling with confidence for the 2nd test in a week's time. World-A-Team defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 107 runs Man Of The Match: QUAGMIRE (brill century) Check out the scorecard attachments to see how YOU did!
