| We Shall See Windies Are Going to Win.

| I have family both sides of this, but I can't see WI doing anything. The internal politics is pulling the team apart. Give the 4 quicks the Bangladesh series to properly gel as a unit and they may stand a chance in England. Jones as keeper means the England batting is likely to be less fragile too. |
| | ||||
| ||||
| But who should bat 6? Freddie or Gerraint - I vote Jones - I think Flintoff is much better batting with the tail than with specialist batsmen. |
| |||
| I would agree, Freddy is more capable of thrashing it if we start to run out of wickets. |
| | ||||
| ||||
| I wouldn't go so far as to say he was better at thrasj=hing the ball around - people rate jones as an (I'm sure I'e seen this written down) "equisite" timer of the ball. |

| Having seen the pitch this morning it looks pretty flat, could be prepared for windies to bat out a draw? |

| Hello Windies Are Moving To Biggest Victory By Not Allowing White Wash. Brian Lara, using the easy nature of the Antigua Recreation Ground pitch, was within sight of his 25th Test hundred as West Indies enjoyed their best day with the bat against England on the rain-affected opening day of the fourth and final Test on Saturday. Looking like a true world class act for the first time in the series, the West Indies captain was undefeated on 86 to lift West Indies to 208 for two when bad light stopped play. West Indies vice-captain Ramnaresh Sarwan was not out on 41 and has shared an unbroken stand of 110 with Lara for the third wicket to add substance and stability to the wobbly batting.

| Preparing a pitch that is so flat as to make a result highly unlikely is hardly a victory, rather an admission of defeat. It is a case of "We (the West Indies) can't hope to win. So lets try to get a draw by making the pitch totally flat." It is sort of like an Indian pitch, prepared to cover the fact that the team cannot compete in the seam bowling department. Of course if it turns on the last couple of days I would still regard Batty and Vaughan as better spinners than the WI counterparts, but neither side has a top class spinner either in the team or available to play. |
