11 Reasons England Will Win The Ashes.>

Michael Vaughan

FACTFILE

Born: 29/10/74
Right hand batsman; right arm off-spin bowler
ODI debut: 23/03/01 v Sri Lanka, Dambulla

England have gone from strength to strength in Test cricket since Vaughan took over the captaincy last year.

Their 4-0 whitewash of West Indies gave them a record of 10 wins from 11 Tests this year, and their one-day form is also gradually beginning to convince.

Vaughan's own form with the bat in the limited overs game is poor, though.

He has yet to manage a single one-day century for England and averages only 25, well below what is expected from a player of his talent.

His best score recently was a hugely impressive 86 under massive pressure against Australia in September's Champions Trophy. But uncertainty about his best position in the order has not helped his consistency

Strange as it may seem, michael vaughan as a batsman will be one of the main reasons England will beat Australia in 2005, reason, he plays well against the Aussies, they for some reason are his bunny.
Trescothick is another reason England will beat Australia, his awesome strokeplay will be to much, for the medium pace trundlers Australia boast at the moment.
Then we have Strauss, young hungry, a weaker attack, just the job, to build his confidence.
Butcher, in the unlikely event they get through the top order, Butcher will be there, to steady the ship.
And when, or if Australia get this far into the England batting before 200, they will have Thorpe teaming up with Flintoff, they have shown what they can do together, Australia have not a clue what is going to hit them, when Flintoff strides
out.
Then jones will be able to repay the trust Vaughan and Fletcher have put in him.
Then they will have to play Harmison, fast hostile, they will know he is there.
Flintoff, will then put the fear of god up the Aussie batsmen, fast hostile accurate,
Anderson they must play him, he is another who plays his best against the once mighty Aussies.
Then Giles will have them in a spin, a return to form, at just the right time.
Then Hoggy may get into the swing, that will sow Headingly up.

Then we have the Pieman for afters if needed.

Fantacy, I doubt it, England arrived this summer.
Not forgetting Simon Jones in the wings.

Anyone disagree?

..... Here we go again.

Two reasons why England will lose the ashes.

1.Australia have more class and talent in every aspect of the game. Batting, Bowling, feilding and mental aptidude.

2.Ern is jinxing them.

I think it is a really positive note for the England team that quite a few people beleive Australia will not find the coming Ashes as easy to win as they have often done in the past. Having the fans behind your back can have a much bigger impact on how a team performs than most of us think.

Good for cricket, that both Austrlia and England are well supported, these frequent who will win the Ashes threads make interesting reads every time.

Thumbs up

It's doesn't take 11 reasons why ENG will lose the ashes..it only takes one bad first day and their moral may be shot for the rest of the series' .

However before admin bans me -I will give 11 reasonS why ENGLAND WILL WIN THE ASHES.

1. Vaughan's level headed captaincy
2. " " " level headed batting
3.A stronger middle order than before.
4 a better stronger look to their bowling arsenal.
5. Andrew Flintoff
6.renewed or new - team confidence.7.more committment.
8.recent successes.
9.crowd expectations and support
10.Australia's probable more watchfullness.
11. Australia's underestimation of the England team.

Iam very positive of england chances this time around.

Good intelligent post Don.

However, points 10 and 11 contradict each other Don. If Australia are more watchful, that is because they realise England pose a threat, so they have not underestimated them.

If Aus do underestimate England, then they will not be more watchful.

Me jinxing your team He He, tell you what Beny, this New Zealand job you are doing is good for England , Could be New Zealand are not trying that hard, to lull you into a false sence of security, or Australia may have peaked to soon, mind you England softened them up for you, winning the series here 3/0 which I predicted .
