Morgan should go now Simple question who thinks that touring Zimbabwe should result in the removal of Morgan as Chairman of the ECB... I would love to hear your view, maybe then we can write a letter to the ECB detailing the views of grass-roots fans...

Hey GW, Any chance of saying why you think he should still be there?

Botham - no. I would like to see Mike Soper in charge, but he knows that his style would no go down well with the County Boards, they want a puppet, not a man of action. Unfortunatly, beacuse Morgan is a puppet he is being easily used by much stronger people in the ICC.

I am astounded that Morgan has now gone to Zimbabwe not to tell the ZCU that the tour cannot go ahead, but instead to try to negotiate to get the press permission. Craziness, having said that with his ability as a hard negaotiator, he will probably get the remaining press banned as well...

I also don't see the real difference it would make to the current situation. The removal of Morgan would not alter the stance of the ECB. The best approach would be for the other stakeholders in the ECB to tell the board in no uncertain terms that the tour should be called off. When this has happened Morgan should be relieved of his duties and there should be a thorough investigation of this fiasco and measures put in place to ensure that it does not happen again. |
