| I agree that was a bright spot for the WIs to see two young guys bat to keep the Windies in the game. Tony Greig was appalled to see the umpires offer the light when he believes there was enough light to play on. I believe Mike Proctor came out and had words with the umpires as well. Greig thinks there is too much of this happening around the world. The rules allow early starts which may be a factor in the umpires mind when deciding to offer the light. Greig thought the bowlers should be reasonably happy with the day although they would have thought 250 was the target after Lara got out. He said the ENG batting is our real strength and is hoping they make 500 runs to put lots of pressure on the Windies. He expects the last wicket to fall early tomorrow. |

| LAst wicket should take 10 balls at most I'd have thought Mike: new ball, swinging, fresh bowlers: Wi might as well have declared in time to give England 3-4 nasty overs tonight for all the difference it will make. I think on balance the WI will be fed up with the performace of their stars but relieved by the performance of their new boys.. and England will be happy with the score but concerned that when they had the chance to really get the WI in trouble they lacked the control to do it. All in all Eng all England are in the driving seat: best 2 days of conditions ahead of them.... could well post a really huge total tomorrow. Wi need something special from somewhere... |
