Not really sure that indicates that they were going at a run a ball....from what I read though they were chasing wide-deiliveries, taht normally they may not have gone for...

No what I meant ff, some of the players including Flintoff were scoring at a run a ball, and one or two you would think would not, I did not mean the team as a whole.

Still favourites, I'd say. Not by far though. If they took the the SA A game as the wake up call which is was, England should still come through this one. South Africa will certainly have been bucked by the result there, but they shouldn't expect England to do the same again at Port Elizabeth. Great game in prospect.

Yes I think England are still favourites, but they will have to heed that wake up call at the hands of South Africa A, and apply themselves like we know we can.

Weather forecast for Port Elizabeth is not good for Friday. Winning the toss may well be important.

Depends where you look for the forecast I think! BBC suggests a shower tomorrow, but clear after that for the rest of the match. Yahoo (linked from Cricinfo) has clear sunny day tomorrow and part cloudy for the weekend.

Get your weather and picture here

Are we going to use this thread or the one in 'Say Something Series'? Or both?
Are we going to have a daily thread for each test? If so, where?

I'm sure they'll be playing, Ern. I'm assuming start of play is 0830GMT. Anyone know if that's right? (Why don't Cricinfo put this information on their site? I am making this assumption because it is 30 minutes after Ladbrokes closes its book, and they presumably do that immediately before the toss.)

Extraordinary coincidence. Just received an unsolicited e-mail from Cricinfo while I was writing that last message. Start is indeed at 0830 GMT.
