Milo...

This is a very well known story.. and I think it does indicate that length was one of the major issues on that occasion...

FF, I'm not disputing the facts of this story - I am merely saying (and did so in my original post) that there was a lot more to McGraths poor bowling in this game than just not hitting the right length (as this journalist appears to suggest) - he did spray it all over the show, in fact I have never seen him bowl down legside as much in my life.

Let's agree he bowled poor line and length.

That's fine... My point being that he did not adjust to English conditions, this did not make him a poor bowler.

Harmison has had a poor match and some would possibly like to knock him and say that he is not as good as his No 1 rating (now gone for the moment). But I believe that he has the quality to come back and will have a big say in one or two of the Tests in this series.

The great thing about this England team is we are no reliant on one bowler and if he does have a bad game then someone else takes the wickets. The other team in the world with this ability is Australia. It must be much harder for McGrath, Warne, Gilly and Kaspo to claim a five-for then it is for Murali.
