Thorpe tried to sweep a reasonably straight ball and got bowled around his legs. In fairness to Smith, he got the ball to grip and turn a fair bit. Ashley must be rubbing his hands together.

351-5 now, Butcher just gone trying a pull, ball wasn't really there for it.

Aye, he made about 40 or so didn't he?

England need to get a bit of a lead, don't want to be batting last chasing a big total.

Good one Freddie When you lose a wicket, you don't then try and hit the bowler out of the ground Someone needs to tell him the definition of consolidation.

I think he made 44 or 45, and if I an not mistaken, I think his first ball he hit for 6.

Does Gilo think he is Freddie.

Hi Pete,
Not he as a rule is patient these days, still no excuse.

Steve needs to pick up some wickets in the second innings, if he doesn't we could be in some trouble.

Dont know Pete, If Flintoff and Hoggy get three wickets each again, and GBH gets a couple, that will do nice.

Mind you I would Like GBH to get a few, make the Aussies think.

Speaking of making other teams think...

Glenn McGrath got 8/24. hehehehe

Anyway (don't worry i'm almost over it) ,

Looks to me like SA have really missed not having a specialst spinner. Dale Styne has impreassed and Pollock has been good as always.

England got a fantastic start from the oppeners but Tresco diddent move his feet again. Had he gone on to make a ton, SA might have just compleatly gone down the plug-hole.

I tried listening to the radio during parts of today and yesterday, can anyone tell me whether their commentators are good or not, because I was finding it extremely hard to follow what was going on (granted the way the signal kept going didn't help), also I found it much more tense listening than I have when watching, I was terrified every ball that someone was going to get out when we were batting, and almost the reverse when we were bowling. Can anyone give any suggestions as to why this is?

Talking Stop Press, McGrath Got 8

Yes but it was not against England was it , I see Flintoff is is wicket taking mood so far, getting match fit.

Think England bowlers will be to strong for them tomorrow, they can't have a mad patch like that again .
