Im happy to post here now and again, if i want quality debate, but i think the mass exodus from the beeb is wrong-headed.

If you actually want your views to reach a large audience, which must be a big part of the thrill, the beeb is still surely the place to go. It needs the quality posters. It is ludicrous to expect the beeb to apologize to a few guys it has ********** off.
Sorry, if this is heresy, but its true.

was anyone expecting an apology then?

I would prefer to be on the bbc site, no offence to the owner of this site, it's very good and far better than the format of the bbc's but the bbc has more people and more potential for new members as this place is hard to find without knowing it's here whereas everyone in the world has heard of the bbc.

But, like everyone else, got fed up with having to spend ages loading up dead threads posted by the idiots, i've no objection to people not liking england and i'm a harsh critic of them myself, but it should be kept to a point and have a reason behind it, not just criticism for the sake of it as is the case with sundaram and co. It's not just him though, it's the constant spamming of the threads which means i have to go searching for ages for the thread i was enjoying the day before as favourite lists don't seem to work on old pages. Plus the fact that the majority of the people whose views i found interesting are now residing here makes this place better for the time being.

The exodus isn't wrong. The BBC board is awful yet again today, and I've had a couple of complaints of recent posts turned down. Until they improve the situation, then I'm more than happy to remain here.

It was necessary to split some posts to a new thread called County News (Split from BBC thread) because it was off topic as far as this thread is concerned. This thread is for comments in relation to the BBC board exodus. Comments on County topics should be made in a new thread. Thankyou for your understanding.

Thumbs up

Hello Farmer. How's the milkmaid and the ostriches? It's lovely and sunny up here in Wigan, which is why Lancs are in Hoce at the moment. Good first innings lead for the red roses, and Mr Law carrying on as usual. Pity he only made 6 when I saw him at Old Trafford last week.

I gave up on the international board some time ago, but keep in touch with many of the people through our 'Rawalpindi Cricket Club'.

I think that the basic premise that we want to reach a mass audience with our posts is just totally wrong. It might be true of a tiny minority, but hopefully it is not true of most.

I posted because I love talking about cricket with other enthusiasts. And by submitting your thoughts and opinions to scrutiny from other enthusiasts you discover how valid, or accurate they are and learn as a result.

I couldn't care less about a mass audience or the BBC using my thoughts in its stories - what I want is intelligent discussion. If I want to reach a mass audience I write a book or, (god forbid) appear on the BBC (which I have done a number of times, although never talking about cricket!).

Please send some sunshine to Tenerife. I can't remember the last time that there was a sunny day here - it's awful again today, totally overcast and very dark.

Hello, just found this place.

I would have been here a long time ago if I'd known there was a php bb for cricket fans.

But the antediluvian software was not my main reason for leaving the BBC board. It was the arbitrary and insulting behaviour of the moderators and hosts.

I posted under my real name - Clive Wilshin - but I thought I'd try out a new handle over here.

Glad to see many familiar names and hope to get stuck into things in the next few days!

Oh - BIG thanks to Ryan Backside for managing to get his hints as to the url for this place past the BBC thought police long enough for me to work it out!

By the way, how long has this place been going?
