Depends if you had any cultural or religious views that dictate certain behaviour or needs/requirements though? You can't expect a community of Muslims to be happy without a mosque if they want one?

If your culture or religion is so different that it is incompatible with the culture or religion of the country that you have moved to, either accept that you will have to change or leave and go to a country that is compatible, but don't expect the host culture to change the rules to fit you in. Westerners are not allowed to drink alchohol and western women are expected to cover up in much or most of the Islamic world. That is the law and culture of the host nation, we should not expect them to change those laws to fit our customs, and they should not expect the reverse to be true.

that's an interesting point cantplay, i believe that in this country the health and safety executive allow muslims and jews to prepare meat in a way that isn't legal by everyone elses standards but is allowed by them because of the religious connotations (which i think is fine, not saying there's a problem with that law), but if for example british people go and live in saudi arabia where alcohol is not allowed, would they make a law saying it was ok for britons or people of british origins to drink and have bars because it's part of our culture? I think it's a good thing that we allow minor changes in laws and build things like mosques and temples etc where needed, it's welcoming in other people at no real cost to ourselves, but i do feel that sometimes this generosity of welcome is pushed too far and the segregation is going too far, the government is too quick to pander to the loudest voice rather than the most deserving cause.

Hello Notts I'm still around, but, because of the chaos sometimes on the Beeb Boards, and the fact that threads are sometimes difficult to follow on this one, I don't post as often. Don't know where Saqlain has gone to, or the rest of his disfunctional family. On the cricket front, usual soggy start to the championship season, but looking forward to the rest of the ODIs in the Windies.

Howdy FG .In some respects FG, it isnt as easy to follow threads on this board, but I've found it becomes easier with time, and its still quicker than the beeb. I'm surprised the BBC hasnt run a report on the national news to try and track down SG and co, he's the only reason why alot of people keep goingt o the their message board. It would interesting to see what would happen if he did defect, as he's held in such high esteem.

Good afternoon FG, afternoon everybody. The weather is picking up, the sun is indeed shining down in Surrey. The forecast is for a good weekend and a round of County Championship matches being completed. The sun will no doubt be shining in Port-of-Spain, but will it be shining on England? Anyone got any commenst on the first round and a bit of County Championship matches? I know some are already getting excited about a Stiff at Kent - one wicket and many, many no-balls. Anyone else caught the eye?
