Btw and Brb are also handy. So is FOAD if you get really cross (this could apply to some of the immigrants from the Beeb I reckon - things were heating up today).

Check out the thread Loyalty - British Asians in Cricket back on page 3 or 4. Most of it, needless to say, has been removed. I hope when Clive gets in here we can have his version of events.
I read and posted to that thread and it was the removal of my post deemed by the Mods to be designed to annoy or harass, that made me go absolutely ballistic, and sowed the seeds of my discontent of that site. In my opinion it contained the 'truth' but it seems people can't take the 'truth' - I'll repost here -

Interesting post.

My take on this for what its worth is a social-integration issue. Asians
born and raised in this country - enjoying the freedoms and benefits they
receive from being in this country want to create 'satellite communities'
of their own kind, beliefs and values within this country.

What I'm saying is - they're happy living in this country - but don't want
to lose any of the benefits of their historical heritage and try to
transplant some of that over here.

I don't really understand it, but for some reason Asians in this country
want to remain 'Asians' first and foremost and Britons second.

Hence the reason many of them prefer to support their 'original homeland '
when it comes to things like Cricket.

It's not something I really understand, nor agree with - but that seems to
be the way it is.

If they love their homeland and heritage so much - why are they still here?

Scott

I can understand your point Scott. But if I went to live in France although I would happily embrace their way of living and join in with society as it is over there I would still support the England football team. I would also expect that any offspring I have would follow me in the support.

Is that fair?
