That's very true RBLC. I was just illustrating how easy it is and how we ourselves would be "guilty".

I would love to see most of the "Asian" Community in England supporting England but accept that it's not going to happen until their communities become further integrated into "our" society. That will take centuries.

Second generation would have to support France (though in Cricket they would have to follow England - since France does not have a test team (yet?)) - you would make an exception if they do not take the nationality, though. I remember Nasser Hussain complaining about this very point about two years ago when we played Pakistan.

"What I'm saying is - they're happy living in this country - but don't want
to lose any of the benefits of their historical heritage and try to
transplant some of that over here.

"I don't really understand it, but for some reason Asians in this country
want to remain 'Asians' first and foremost and Britons second."

Scott I believe some people might regard your post as being inflammatory as they may read in to it racist undertones. The logical approach if in doubt is to ask someone what they mean (i.e. the person/people with doubts about your post should have asked you to elaborate).

I won't ask you to elaborate. To me it doesn't matter what views you have on stuff like this - I'm not saying I'm not interested in reading this kind of post! I have my own views and it's none of it going to affect your views/change your mind - even if I wanted it to.

Scott - I'm not going to fall out with you- or anyone - over this. I'll talk cricket - even politics - but not this. Your version of the truth is exactly that.

On a more pertinent note - you can say Pig here!!

I agree they "should" but if both your parents support England and are english then are you going to "go against" them and support France?

I've just moved over. I tried the BBC MB for about 3 weeks and it just got a little silly. I will keep with it for a while but am hoping that this one is a bit more fun.

Mark

I wouldn't put much faith in Helen if I were you - she's just 1 person out of many. I complained about 3 of SKR's pots this morning and they were all turned down.

I wouldn't think the Mods really care about people moving to be honest - it's not like their jobs on the line is it? Which pretty much sums up the whole Mod issue on that site - they just don't care.

Scott, I think part of the issue for the mods is that they have to deal with all the message boards on the BBC site - not just the cricket ones. They've apologised before that posts have remained up which should have been taken down because they don't have the facilities/manpower to pre-approve the posts that go through the system. Looks like this place is working out okay though (right?)

Is that fair?
Notts

I was referring more to second third fourth generation Asians - who have been born and raised in this Country - this is their country of birth. They have no more link with their homeland than their ancestors who moved here many many years ago. Does it still make sense they should support a country their ancestors migrated form many years ago?

Well the post was 'pulled' with no further discussion - Judge, jury and sentenced.
