Smile County news (split from BBC thread)

Greetings Flanfinger. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Anything interesting to tell us that might be remotely cricket related?

Only that Hollioake has hit a century, and that has made me smile.

Especially as it's against the sex at Lords...

ah yes .... a quick one too. Notts have finally bowled Durham out but they took their time over it. And Lancashire are looking very good.

I understand that the Middlesex bowling was wayward. so that always helps. Lancashire are looking good though.

Went to the Oval Friday and Saturday, and Sussex were playing well, so Lancashire bowling them out cheapley and now surpassing their score is ominous.

Hi Notts Exile. Do you know why Shreck is playing ahead of Sidebottom? And what about Warren ahead of Singh and Shafayat???

Ah well, Arnie's lad hasn't done any pre-season due to an inury so Shreck is playing - and doing well. Can't really explain Warren playing other than he averaged 42 in the Championship last year and therefore gets to keep his place until his form drops, only fair I suppose. Billy had a bad season last time out, his chance will come again.

Good figures from Mahmood again, granted he picked up the last two which always helps.
Looks like he is listed to come in ahead of Cork and Hegg I thought he was a genuine tail ender?

Cool Ooooh Isn't it nice here!

well goodness me, a message board talking predominately about the cricket - fantastic. I was only a few days on the BBC board, but all the rubbish was too much even in that short period!

Mahmood - He's been talked up alot - but unlike Anderson, would it be good for a young player like that (inc Plunkett, Stiff et al) to have at least a full season or two behind them to learn how to take wickets in all conditions and against a few quality overseas boys?

I know everybody thinks we take too long for our young talent to make it to the top, but i wonder whether Anderson for instance, would be an even better player with 130 championship wickets behind him?

Cannot understand why Hegg would go in beneath Cork . Although he biffed a few for Derbys, I've never really rated his batting - putting it down as chancey - would've thought Hegg was more dependable! Law and Hooper are gonna be top overseas boys this year I think!!!!!
By the way, these made smarty shaped things are great aren't they
