England making good progress so far, despite losing Vaughan.
From what I heard on the radio it seems the injury is not as bad as first thought and maybe could have played. I dont know what if anything can be read into this though!

From this start I'm hoping for a high 200 score - say 287.

Sky TV can't get a signal from the ground at the moment due to a failed generator. They're filling with one-day action from last Summer's series against SA.

Hmm. Doesn't matter how slow the pitch is if you take the aerial route! Run-rate is 6.6!

A score of about 300 looks to be in the offing. Tresco is going great guns. Good for him to get back in form with Strauss sitting behind him for a place in tests.

In the past year Trescothick has shown he's one of the best one-day players in the world. Test level is another matter.

If Strauss rises to the challange, and plays as good as Tresco,300 to 350 is on.

could have egg on my face in a couple of hours,

Strauss is gone. Honestly, I don't agree with Tresco being one of the best ODI players in the world. He's good. No doubt. But, IMO he tries to improvise a little too much. I think he sort of forgets he can play all the orthodox shots and still get runs in ODI's.

Mike

Do you know if Sky are working on fixing this problem or are we simply not going to get any coverage?

I find this very frustrating, with so many being washed out and when they do get to play one we can't see it - how annoying.

taken from Christine of caribbeancricket
Equipment caught on fire and two dishes burned up - they are now trying to use fibre optics to give us coverage. They are hoping to use the fibre optics until they get a new dish. TWI have sent to another island for another dish and are hoping to set that up later. No-one is seeing cricket.

Latest news is the feed is back!!

From what they are saying on the radio, orthodox shots would probably not work on this pitch. Trescothick is improvising brilliantly. About half an hour ago, Greig was complaining about Tresco, saying he should play sensibly and score 75 off 75 balls. Well he passed 75 a long time ago!
