I think we have enough runs to win. Good cameo by Read. He is an ideal lower-order batsmen.

Hi Nikhil

England 281 good score, should be a winning score.Wonder how much the freak catch cost England?(HE hit the Fielder, rather than the fielder catching him).

Tresco out to a brill throw, that cost us.

I'd say that's enough to win it.

Can someone tell me what the rule is regarding time in ODIs? It may be that the delay on the TalkSport internet feed is fooling me, but that innings seemed to end rather later than the scheduled 1805 BST. I always thought the clock could end the innings and the side batting second would then face only as many overs as they had managed to bowl. Have I got that completely wrong?

Actually Flintoff's wicket was cruacial. He can hit big sixes.

Actually, 281 is a good score. Now it's upto the bowlers. IMO, slowes bowlers will hold the key. Anderson will go for a few runs today. The pitch and conditions aren't to suited to his bowling. This will show how matured has he become since he played last time. Nice test for him today.

Blackwell and Clarke could have done better, Strauss and Collingwood got out rather tamely, but a great innings by Trescothick, a patchy but effective one from Flintoff, and a good sensible knock from Read at the end.

I think if the opening bowlers strike early, England will walk this. The only area I see it all going wrong is in the middle part of the innings, where we could do with a specialist spinner. But just taking the pace off the ball could be enough to get the WI innings stuttering.

IMO he really over-improvises. It's as if he tries to get the runrate ski-hi and thinks the only way to do it is improvise. I mean look at Hayden for example. He hardly improvises. He plays the same shots that he would play in a test. Same with Kallis and many others.
England innings (50 overs maximum) R M B 4 6
ME Trescothick run out (Chanderpaul) 130 201 137 13 2

How do you like these apples??

These apples are good . I'm not against Tresco as you may be thinking. But I had to post my opinion on what I have see of him.

It's a very good knock from him. I hope he starts moving his feet now. He would get a much better player doing that.
