Ahh you remind me of a thread that Richie Benaud's Love Child and I had some fun with on the BBC boards.

Something about cricket associated Film titles...

I suggested "The Thirty-Nine Steps" as a tale depicting the last attempted runs by Michael Atherton v. Australia when Mike Gatting (?) I think, ran him out on 99.

It wasn't the funniest one...but it was quite a good thread while it lasted.

What a terrible way to reach a hundred. Well out of form now, I'll say I snicked that one between third and fourth slip toward the third man boundary where it was fielded and returned before I could cross for two. Obviously hit it too well.
Still at least the post numbers are accurate...unlike in that other place...

Was that the run out where he tripped over? That cracked me up!!!

My fav run out was of Gower, I think v India, where he was day dreaming, leaning on his bat out of his grounds...

Yeah, I know, who would have thought it!! Bless him!!! I think gooch was engaged in thrashing the ball to all parts of the ground, and Gower hadn't had a whiff of a chance to actually have the strike, so I guess he was dreaming of dispatching his first test match delivery to the boundry, where as Gooch was out for a duck, first ball!!!

You take that back you Aussie Spawned Articulator - you can have the points about the Stance, Water colours and hair, but the Hat and Jack are here to stay.
