Devon Malcom is a God and that is all I will say on the matter. Robin Smith also. Both have been severly caned by the media and badly treated so I cant see what rachael's "boggle" is.

Anyway who else bugs me ? Kirtly does a bit, he always looks as though he's about to burst into tears, Ntini, everytime he took a wicket I found myself screaming at the telly "how did you get out this tw@t he's crap", but because he was from a poor background everybody gives him a break.

Jacques Kallis ! How could I forget ! Bloody boy-band reject, smug-sledgeing gimp. Bowling ? Total ****e in my opinion, he always seemed to bowl in slightly short miles out side off stump, you cant hit but it isnt going to get you out because you dont even have to play it. How I laughed when freddie tonked him about. If giles had a purpose in that series, it was to take kallis bat of him and smash his foppish-haired head in.

Could you be my long-lost twin brother? I'd subscribe to almost all of those comments! But although the attacks of some fans have put me more on Trescothick's side, even I can't think of anything redeeming to say about Giles - there must be something, but I just don't know what it is!
I have wondered as much myself several times! However, comparing our pictures, I feel that shared blood seems rather unlikely.....

Poor old Giles. I quite like Giles-the-man. Such a shame about Giles-the-unspinning-spinner.....

Add R. Ponting to my list too. Is there anything the great one doesn't have an opinion on?

Oh yes. The other classic my flatmate had was evey time somebody made a fool of themselves (from burning the toast all the way through to me setting fire to the sofa when I was trying out a petrol stove I had just repaired) he would just shake his head and say "Graham Hick....". When he was very publicly dumped by his girlfriend (including the classic drink-in-the-face move), he just sat there saying "Graham Hick..." to himself over and over again. He had a bit of a problem.

Unless the shared blood comes from a vampire... Sounds like a job for Mr. Frankenstein (or one of his friends)...

A rich man's Ray Bright perhaps?

Was it of him that one very distinguished old Australian spinner nicknamed "Tiger" said, on asking if he should be included in the touring party for England "England, I wouldn't even take him on a tour of Manley!".

Oh lovely, a chance for a good bitch after a hard day a work!!!

My pet hate in general is smug people, so therefore my cricketing pet hate is...smug cricketers/commentators!! For example:

- Geoff Boycott (plus his whole attitude is pre-jurassic)
- Ian Bothem (great player, but what an ego - he wrote a book entitled 'what's wrong with english cricket and how I will fix it' or some such rubbish!)
- Alec Stewert (I'm a surrey fan and he still annoys the hell out of me! His whole retirement tour of last summer seemed to be milking every last bit of prasie from the crowds that he could!)
- Mark Nicholas (he has this air about him that says 'look aren't I wonderful' yet is completly useless!! Mind you he could make a few quid as a Roger Moore look-a-like).

My other big peeve is with the music they use for Channel 4 cricket coverage - they have managed to select the MOST ANNOYING SONG EVER as their theme tune!!! I hate it sooooo much...and what the hell does Mumbo NUmber 5 got to do with cricket anyway!!

Wow, I feel soooooo much better!!!!

Yeah, I much preferred the BBC theme music, the one they recently brought back for Aggers' late night highlights on R4.

me too - it remonds me of being young!!!

To be honest, the whole Channel 4 coverage is annoying me these days. When they first got it, I was pleasently surprised by their coverage. However, the situation with the highlights is getting worse and worse! I can't belive they aren't showing any highlights of the WI series at all. I know I can watch it on Sky, but if I'm at work till late I'd like to be able to come home at 10pm and watch some highlights of the days play...

Exactly, although don't say that they might make it even later (i.e. after 1am). I think it's very bad that we can't see our national side on the TV! I remember when they first got it and it was refreshing/vibrant, but now some of the gimmicks and all that smarminess are wearing a bit thin. The best commentator I heard all summer was Clare Connor cos she had no ties with the players and told it how it is. I can't even watch it on Sky, I'm thinking of getting in the summer because there's so much on. Like you, got to find some time to watch!

Exactly - it is VERY bad that there is no coverage on terresital television of England v WI. How are kids supposed to become enthused about cricket if half of them can't even see any international games? Yes - when C4 first got the cricket it eas all very fresh and new, but I think the've lost interst, to be honest - they've got new toys to play with - like Big Brother!!!
