I don't mind him that much really, just playing along. I said earlier the best commentator on Channel 4 is Clare Connor.

Hehe, it's weird isn't it. I don't have a problem with Mark Nichollas or Tony Greig, but alot of people hate them two.

I don't have a problem with Greig. But I do get frustrated when he tries to play down England's achievements sometimes. He even tried to play down Hoggard's hat-trick!

I hate Tony Greig, period. He wasn't too flash in his playing days and yet, he goes around underplaying people's achievements. The funniest part was when he tried to put down Lara for not walking, the man who sold out to Packer talking about integrity was just the most amazing moment ever for me. And I don't like Ponting either, the guy said this about Murali "He is probably chucking that one in". I wonder how he will react if someone asks Shane Warne if he had seen his "Hidden Pills" and then go, "I meant Hidden Hills". He even tried to downplay Lara's 400. He thinks he owns the game, I just hope we own them when they come to India in September.

But on another note, I like Botham and Boycott. I guess they keep saying what is wrong but usually their words make sense. I know Boycott always suggests something and when it is done, it usually works out well. I knew he helped Sourav Ganguly, who couldn't stop nicking balls outside offstump in the Caribbean in 2002. After his chat with Boycs, he averaged more than 60 in the three tests. But yes, I guess they could be a little less negative with their commentary. Perhaps, the fact that they are great players makes them expect everyone to perform at their level.

I loathe, detest, and abominate Mike Gatting with every fibre of my being.

Whatever the circumstances, his behaviour in Pakistan was disgraceful. As a captain he was an inept clown who won only two tests, even though that was enough to retain the Ashes against the weakest team ever fielded by Australia that we should have thrashed four-nil. He then got shafted by the selectors, but reacted by sabotaging his successor, David Gower, by captaining a side to chase the rand in South Africa (the tour was announced in the middle of the 1989 Ashes tour, after which all the rebels were suspended, leaving Gower with a demoralized rump). This was a fine repayment for the faith that Gower had always shown in him.

In South Africa he showed just how dense and insensitive he truly is by describing anti-apartheid protests as "just a lot of singing and dancing." He was stupidly allowed back into the England side by Illingworth, even though it was obvious his eyesight was failing and he was getting clean-bowled on a regular basis. As a commentator, he undermined England's best ever captain Hussain out of petty spite.
