As for irrational dislike, I suppose I do have a bit of thing about Graeme Smith, partly because he is such a loud-mouthed bully, but mostly because he whinged long and loud over the Trent Bridge pitch. You never hear players like Brian Lara complain about pitches, even when invited to do so by the press, but Smith began his whinge on the evening of the second day and was still at it a week later, claiming SA hadn't really been beaten except by the pitch.

It may be, though, that I should cut him some slack as he is only 22. I may even have to admit he is not just a flattrack bully unless his average starts coming down soon. But I just keep longing to see him fall flat on his face.

I bet he'll have a more than healthy input into how the pitches are prepered when we play SA later this year (or when ever it is)

I fancy the harminator will have his card marked thgis time

Hi BL/BD. Yes, but Nkala batting at four. Is that a good idea? Last I saw Taylor 20*.

Paul Adams had a pretty poor tour of NZ, Peterson was very poor against WI and subsequently dropped, which leaves Boje, who did ok in NZ on pitches that weren't that suitable for spin, but had been dropped before that and doesn't do too well in SA.

he´s out now - 38 (not bad)

nkala´s probably the best bat after taibu but taibu came in 4th (taibu is a long way off being a good batsman, but he´s keen to learn and not intimidated - good for the side)

Boje was injured not dropped. Remember that freaky injury? He's a good player, good spinner.

he edges giles in both depts. IMO - and i quite like giles (well more than most of the guys here do)
