Even so, the fact he has played for another country rules him out for me.

maybe we can tempt 62yr old Graeme Pollock to play for us

Just because he's austrailian doesnt make him the best thing since sliced bread. He had a go and fluffed it.

I'm still with HOL on this. We nned a spark to get our Ashes dreams back on track. If Law's the man to do it, then no problems. If Carberry scores 2,000 runs then no-one can ignore him.

Andy Flower's now British is he not? I reckon it comes down to the loser mentality. We'd rather pluck our own home grown players than stick in an Aussie just for one series. If he was Zim or West Indian by birth, would we still have a problem with it?

Your as bad as that Asswipe MP then, that wanted Zola,Henry & Schmeichel to play for us!

Believe me - its only us English that think like this.

No he's a Zimbabwean who has been granted British Citizenship.

And yes i'd rather blood our own players than just sticking an Aussie in our team for 1 series!

Notice the proviso. If Carberry scored 1,000-2,000 runs and is scoring hundreds like clockwork, then he should be in instead of Law. The truth hurts for some people, but nobody English and young is standing out in county cricket and shouting 'pick me!'
