Boring it is not, whatever your preferance over cricket mode.

Ond day cricket no cut and thrust(the one days games finest atribute).
One day cricket is like watching highlights:- just the big moments, and none of the buildup, none of the art, or the expectation or suspence, the frisson of infinate possibility. It has none of the magical passages of play when a partnership clicks, or a bowling unit and thier captain operates in unison like various parts of a single body.

Limited overs is the cricketing equivalent of masturbation! Now, masturbation has its place in life but it simply isn't as much fun as the real thing!

Morning Goatman. I don't know about that. Brenda, my dairymaid, is all for it. Anyway, went to an Eric Clapton concert in Sheffield last night. It was absolutely brilliant. The man has not lost it yet, although he's getting on a bit. Brenda loved it as well.

As for cricket, Yorks seem to be doing the usual thing and playing well in one game and rubbish in the next. Consistency is what it's all about, but I'm still sure they can get promotion in the important league this season. Come on Mr Lehmann, a true-born Yorkie if ever I saw one.

I don't know whats wrong with them, really I don't. In the winter transfers I had a distinct "rats and a sinking ship feeling" as I watched people like Sidebottom slipping away. Hopefully Big Dave will sort things out.

As for Eric Clapton, I don't quite understand the connection with masturbation. Unless there's something you aren't telling us, Farmer. Now, if it was Julio Iglesias I could understand.

Played the first match of the season on Sunday, and had a barbie after. I still feel a bit rough this morning to be honest. if only they'd told me that the bottle was full of lighter fluid, and not salad dressing, I'd never have had that second half-pint......

Well Goatman, I wasn't connecting the great Mr Clapton with you know what, because he is far too busy earning millions to spend time tossing around. I have a feeling that Big Dave is the man for the job and will stamp his authority, as long as the old farts in club ties don't try to start interfering. If they do, I'll bet he'll be off, like many another Yorkshire great has done in the past. However, just up the road from Bottom Pasture is a Costcutter, and the man who built that up has a schrewd business head. As he is now looking after Yorks finances, I can see a future. Fingers crossed.
