cricket changes

What cricket changes would you like to see?
Be it changing the LBW law so that balls pitching outside leg can be LBW or changing the materials of the bats or balls (if you turned up to a tennis match with a wooden raquet you'd get laughed out of court) or having mixed teams (yes please, you'd never get me out the showers and I'd go blind)
Or perhaps you think "well its changed enough, 2 ,then three, then four stumps and now three again, bats being curved, and the bats being the width of wickets, aluminium bats, men in pyjamas whatever next?baseball?"

I'd like mixed teams for olympic reasons and the fact fact I'm all for the development of cricket.(yes we believe you richard,NOT)

What would you like? Red or yellow cards for chucking, unsportsmanlike behaviour or
machine gunning the umpire if he upsets you? You name it and the magic cricket fairy will grant your wishes.

Talking Richard Jenkins

"Richard Jenkins (if you turned up to a tennis match with a wooden raquet you'd get laughed out of court) or having mixed teams (yes please, you'd never get me out the showers and I'd go blind."

Where did you say this tennis club was Richard, and if you nominate me I will rip the funny money up.

Yes changes to cricker rules,No Englishman can be out LBW.

All opposing players who hit English bowlers for 4 will recieve a yellow card,

if Australian,a red card.

really I would like proper LBW disputes to be refered to the 3rd umpire, dont like this hight tech, but it is hear.

Remember I think it was Lillee making his own rules coming to the crease with a metal bat?

Yes Lillie threw the bat away when the umpire informed him it has to be made of wood; and he and sulked/skulked off to get a proper wooded one. the noise was deafaning!
LBW deserves 3rd umpire, if the technology is better and the flow of the game is not affected.
As for red cards for the aussies, LOL nice one!

Well I'd like to see far more technology used in umpiring decisions. I know this is an old chestnut with many people, and there are good arguments for and against this, and I'm fully aware of the main thrust of the 'detractors' arguments, but at the end of the day, in my mind, getting the right decisions made is the over-riding factor. Too many games these days can turn on on a 'poor decision' (Lara's 400 is an excellent example) and as the games get tighter and more competitive the need to ensure the correct decision is made becomes even more important.

I'd like to see the bowlers 'front foot' fault linked to a laser that 'beeps' when its over stepped, similar to that used for Tennis line calls.

I'd like to see more LBW decisions and 'nicked catches' being referred to the third umpire, who, with the use of television replays and technology such as 'hawkeye' can be much better informed about making a decision one way or the other. In my mind it is simply not acceptable in this modern age, that Umpires can get away with making poor decisions, when the technology is there to enable the correct ones to be made. Perhaps the third Umpire should be given the power to over-rule the standing Umpire in 'dubious' cases or the Captain of the fielding side or batsman given the power to challenge a decision he feels is wrong by having it referred to the third umpire, with the necessary precautions in place to ensure thar priviledge is not abused.

Yes,I agree. Test matches aren't 100mph breakneck affairs and it would help the umpire . looking for help is a sign af great sttrenth and the line decisions are a crowd pleaser. I like the beep front foot idea, hadn't thought of that.

Remember the huge bat presented to Tony Greig by a fan,the series in england he was going to make the West Indies Grovel.

Tony Greig was OK,I liked him,was sorry to see him having to grovel at the feet of the West Indies, last test would have been at the oval I think.

The LBWs in particular, there has been some really bad decisions made this series, one thing at a time though,or the umpires will be obsolete.

I think mixed teams would be great! It would be interesting to see how the women fare against the male bowlers. But then the traditionalists at Lords wouldn't be too impressed would they!
