talkSPORT

Does anyone agree that talkSport have done a brilliant job covering the West Indies V England series?,Tony greig has been refreshing with his straight talking commentary.

Is talkSport as good as TMS?,I like TMS,but I think talkSport have been outstanding, and I will miss them this summer.

Tony Greigs spontanious outburst about p....... will be remembered for a long time to come.

I only listened to abit the other day when there was a fault with sky and the cricket. Greigy's a laugh though. Wish i'd heard that bit about the men in the bikinis, i've just read it on the bbc board.

I've been listening to TalkSport all through the tests and ODIs as I have no available alternative. Fair's fair: overall, it has been pretty good. To the question, is it as good as TMS - well, in my view, No. But then I am a kid at heart and I have a huge bias in favour of Aggers and the increasingly eccentric Blowers. As to AW Greig, he can be entertaining, but there have been too many occasions IMO when he has forgotten that he is broadcasting on radio and not TV. Especially I seem to be having problems when wickets fall: a wild South African yell of "He's OUT!!!!!! That's the end of [insert name here]!!!" and an immediate commercial break doesn't quite tell us all that it should. Sometimes you wonder if the batsman was caught, bowled or struck by lightning. Other than that, though, I have generally enjoyed TSATT (TalkSport At The Test: the abbreviation may catch on, but I doubt it). One thing which has been great, and which TMS has never managed as far as I know, is the 30 minute lead in to the match each day. Greig's pitch report, coverage of the toss, etc., are things which the BBC might like to think about copying.

Yes that was the one fault with tony Greig,he at times takes it for granted we can see what is going on,the same thing applies to TMS,Aggeres is in a class of his own, brilliant,I like Blowers though he is so English, but you can lose the thread of the game with his twittering on about the colour of busses he spots,or of birds, and he is in delight if he spots a butterfly,so when a wicket falls you have not a clue who is out.

Now TMS would be good if they made Tony greig an offer he could not refuse,I also liked the pitch report ect.

I have to agree about Henry Blofeld, I found him really quite irritating. I used to listen to TMS over the Test Series last year, whilst I was at home working on my car. I had Sky Sports on, but used to listen to TMS outside and whenever a wicket fell used to rush inside to see the replay on the TV and go back to listening to TMS.

I sometimes felt that Henry Blofeld was more interested in the quality of the bakewell tart he had at lunch/tea than he was about discussing Cricket issues.

Most annoying.

Scott

Thumbs up Rouges Gallery

TSATT also had some good guest commentators from the caribbean - something TMS doesn't do enough of.
I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't find the adverts to irritating.

You have it spot on Scott, and he could talk about the same tart for ages, and if a viewer had sent a cake in well........

Scott - this is very true, but bless old Henry, he doesn't have much else in life to look forward too..so let him enjoy his Bakewell tart while he still can!!!
