Ello RMJ of the green face.

"By fulfilling the fixtures, England would avoid a heavy fine and a financially crippling international ban." - do you know if an international ban is guaranteed by the ICC if England abandon their plan to tour Zimbabwe. Also, as I mentioned earlier today, is the automatic "cancellation fee" imposed by the ICC a lot smaller than the £50m expected losses if England can't play international cricket for a year? I thought the actual fine was something in the order of £1m.

Red face

yep guilty, it should read 'potentially crippling ban' because australia wouldn't be able to tour if the ICC banned England from International cricket, and no ashes or other tours (hence potentially 50 million)

Tim Lamb said it was the Australians who insisted on the ban clause being accepted at the ICC; something which they vermently denied.

I'm surprised that this poll is so close...I know it's only a very small sample and so on, but I find it hard to belive that more people think we should have some sort of tour than those who think we shouldn't go at all...

I hope so, Ernest, although I sometimes doubt that the general public are really aware of just HOW BAD the situation has become...
