It is a tough call. What with Tresco Captaining for the first time, can you see him agreeing to leaving out Giles? It would be too aggressive, and risky and I don't think they'll take that risk. I'll like to see Anderson brought in for Jones - but I can't see it happening.

Does anyone know when they announce the final side? Tommorow morning?

It's usually right before the start of play, Scott.

Evening Kirsty

Got everything ready? Got your packed lunch made and ready? Made up your sandwiches? Got your sun hat and sun cream?

Don't forget you have to be there at least 45 minutes before the start for increased security and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Scott,

Hmmm. To be fair, I don't think Trescothick will have to make team selection decisions - I don't know exactly how it works, but Vaughan is still captain, it's not like he's resigned it and he will still presumably have a big say in decisions behind the scene. And Fletcher and the other selectors always have a big say in team selections as well, regardless of who is captain. However, what they might think is that they don't want to make Tresco's life harder - captaining the side for the first time is hard enough, but depriving him of bowling options will make it even harder. So I think they'll probably go for Giles.

As for Anderson/Jones, I think whoever is selected will do the required job - they are both good bowlers.

Yep, I think your right - Tres will only be in charge once the match starts, and even then I suspect Vaughan will be involved in things to some extent.

That's really what I meant, I'm fully aware Trescothick has no say in selections, although I'm sure his opinion may well be asked.

I'm not so sure he will be asked..I think it's pretty much a done deal, to be honest. Vaughan might not be playing in the game, but I don't doubt his calling the shots off the field...
