I know, I know - it's just our batting performances in the WI hardly inspired cconfidence and we're facing a much better attack today.

However, Strauss and Trescothick look to be playing quite responsibly (please don't let me jinx them!)

Hmmm, seems to be some snailing by Tres - I think we'll get par with their score, and it is always possible that the two big sixes belted off Freddie will lead him to take some merciless retribution!!!!!!!!!!

Now that would be great fun! I think the battle of the all-rounders will be very intruiging in this series!

Ruddy faced pasty muncher! I'll have you know that Marcus is an absolute dreamboat! I dream of the day when he takes me in his strong, manly arms and twirls me to the strain of foxtrot and tango...

Oh Goaty you horny beast!

I think the best you can hope for is a lift home in his conker brown Ford Cortina from the Upper Scrumpton Youth Club summer disco. If you're really lucky he might show you his mighty blade and let you have a bite of his 'banger'.

yay, i was right, we did bowl well and did get them for under 400. Not a great target, but considering they can all bat except for martin that's a pretty good return compared to what happened yesterday.

tresco and strauss have started off ok, strauss looks confident enough although tresco looked a bit streaky as usual. If they can keep going and the weather gets a bit better we could post a score close to or slightly above theres, will take a lot of effort on their part though.

battle of the all rounders will be interesting, freddies not even vaguely in the same class as cairns so it will take some special kind of effort for him to win.

A much better attack???? I only hope they don't try bowling slower balls...

Edwards and Best were bowling in the mid 90's and looked pretty effective, this lot stuggle to reach the low 80's and if the sun comes out they could really look like cannon fodder.

In all honesty Vic, Chris cairns is probably the best all rounder in the modern era. If theres a better one please tell me. If hadnt been as blighted with injuries he would have broken even more records. If freddie can be half as good I'd be happy.
