WHY IS COLLINGWOOD NOT PLAYING???????????

no offence to strauss but collingwood was picked in the squad ahead of him
Because Strauss is a specialist opening batsman and Collingwood isn't. The only other option was to push Butcher up and play Collingwood in the middle order, but Butcher is happy at No.3 and they didn't want to move him.

I personally feel that this is the best team to put out (after Vaughan's injury). Keep Butcher at No 3 where he averages 44. 4 Seamers and one spinner. I really do feel that if four seamers can't do it five won't either.

The selection policy is all about consitstency is why Anderson was always going to lose out to Jones. However, as Chris Read found out if Jones does not perform, expect to see Anderson in the team at some point.

By the way according to Caddick, he would walk back into the side, wonder what went wrong?
