Noooooooooooooooooo

Giles is playing ahead of Collingwood/Anderson. Strauss will open with Trescothick (only change from last side). Go on Gilo, make me eat my words! (Bet he doesn't)

Thumbs up Putting my England goggles on

I'm unable to get C4 TV coverage here in Holland - so its the TMS team for me!!
I wonder how they will refer to Giles on radio 4 today?!

It's my team so I will support whoever plays!

Go Strauss, Go Giles, Go Tresco!

Eh, what? No Anderson either? Have they selected the final XI?

Oh my god! I've not been a fan of Giles for some time - but do you know what, I've a horrible sneaky suspision that he's about to prove us all wrong! He's a very lucky boy to have gone through such a mediocre run of form, with no decent challengers for his spot.

I'm going to make a mad-arsed prediction that he'll get 4 wickets in the match (and double his recent wicket tally!!!!)

You crazy mo fo! Yeah, thats the final eleven. Its the side I wanted except I would have liked to have seen Colly/Anderson for Giles. SP Jones should play and I'm glad Fletch is not tempted to play Anderson instead.

a quiet thought.....

WHY IS COLLINGWOOD NOT PLAYING???????????

no offence to strauss but collingwood was picked in the squad ahead of him.
I also strongly believe we would get more wickets with collywobblers than ashley 'how do i turn a ball outside asia' giles

but then again i wish no england player to fail, but giles is playing it seems as a specialist number 8!

Ooooh no Freddie baby - now that's a moot point! Even though I have in the past been a Wheelie-bin basher, I rate Collywobbles little dobbers even less! Let's be honest, it has been quite dry, and Wheelie-bin will at least offer some variety (if only in trajectory).

And as for you Hockmeister - why should Jones play? Would not Anderson (coming off the back of a 10 wicket haul) be a better prospect as a swinger in these conditions - we are a squad - pick the best XI for the conditions?

No Anderson bowls 8mph slower then Jones, and he is just as wayward. There is not going to be swing in this test and Jones' extra pace will be useful. What has Jones done wrong anyway? What did Anderson do in the ODI's to say ''pick me''??

Persist with Jones and he will come good.

fair point - but colly is under rated, new zealand dont like his bowling either (cairns is colly's bunny!)

but i like variation and with no vaughan to fill n a few guess we had to have the only specialist number 8 and part time spin bowler that is giles, who i'll admit now, i used to like but recently, my god! iv never cursed a england player so much!
