Ashley Giles takes a wicket!

Like Strauss's century on debut, I think this deserves its own thread, and for the same reason. When will we be able to use this thread title again?

Seriously, though, he's bowled pretty well this morning. Too late to save his career, though, unless he gets a few more now, surely.

Cool Refuse disposal unit

And another!! Mixed blessings this - Giles could retain his place!! I'd be happy if he gets a Pfeiffer - otherwise it's too little too late.

3-2-1 with Ashley Bin

If he has Five by teatime then he deserves to be the 12th man in the next Test.

Giles and Harmison will probably get all the plaudits in the papers, but no one should forget that Simon Jones bowled a brilliant spell before lunch that hauled England back into the match. I thought he was very unlucky not to take more wickets - there'll be days when he bowls worse than that and picks up five wickets. I also thought he should have bowled sooner after the lunch break.

Jones bowled brilliant,no luck, bowled i think it was Tuffy of a no ball,Flintoff bowled well also,
Tresco should have had them back earlier,Proof Freddy on,middle stump gone.Am I imagining it,or have they paired Flintoff and Jones as change bowlers.

Dose not seem a big target to get,but if England win,it will be the 4th largest 2nd innings total,to win a game in England.

Cool

3 wickets for Giles...lovely!!!

I thought he bowled very well today!! Took three important wickets too!

I'm very proud, bless him!!

Good job he did play in this match, really...

I felt he tied down one end very nicely this afternoon as well, although perhaps Tres could have been a bit more aggressive...

His first game was pretty hard to beat. Tail end slogging for forty. Sehwags off stump sent cartwheeling. His fastest bowling touching 94mph on the speedo. Aaaah memories

Jones bowling is more controlled than before, the ozzie bowling coach deserves praise for that. All we need now is an extra yard of pace from simon. Reverse swing at 90+ mph would make him a real handful.
