It was a mix up between them.

If anyone should be blamed (and I don't think they should it's just one of those things) it should be Strauss. If you watch the replay - Strauss is hardly backing up, Hussain is half way down the wicket before Strauss has even moved. If Strauss didn't think there was a run - he should have shouted NO! and sent Hussain back - he didn't.

The other thing you need to bear in mind is that Strauss should have been backing up and trusted the call - had he gone when Hussain set off - he'd have got in no problem, he didn't - he set off very late, stopped, hesitated, and then realised his problem and was subsequently run out, he really can't blame anyone but himself in my opinion. I think he got caught napping a bit.

Lightbulb What a great way to start the summer tests

From the radio commentary it sounds as if England are riding their luck!

The run rate probably wont become a driving factor and NZ now have too few runs to defend to put everyne back - so it's down to wickets. Phew - i'm glad of the break and this time I think England will be happier to go off than NZ, which I thought was reveresed at lunch.

England to win by three wickets at about 5:35 BST!

Chaps, that's tea and 113 still needed I think. I'd hoped to be chasing 90 in the final session. I can't help feeling that if Strauss was still out there we'd have got more runs in this session as he looked more positive. Looking at Cricinfo, Hussain and Thorpey seem to be scratchy, and I reckon they've dragged the runrate down a bit. Anyone think they need to come out and dominate for the first five overs after tea? - if one of them gets out to a rash shot, it brings in Freddie, who might pick up the rate a bit.

We really should win this guys - not just for the win, but to make a mark on the Kiwis from the first match onwards!

Sign of a good match is that either side could win with still one session left, it could be a draw, it could be a tie. Great match, but as ever, what ever the result, this match will throw up more questions that it answers.

I hate to sound like Sundaram, but I will be very, very disappointed if England don't win from here.

Here's a bold prediction - we race to victory without losing another wicket and with 3 or 4 overs to spare - IT COULD HAPPEN!!
